G/U Infect control deck, heavily informed by the current metas of both Legacy and Modern, with much owed to the continuing genius of Tom Ross. If you have suggestions, I am all ears.

This is a considerable alteration to a project of the same name that was designed as a so-called "suicide Infect" deck, built with pain lands and various Phyrexian one-mana spells. Some of the latter have survived here, but, for the most part, the life loss has been mitigated.

I am aware that the original dual lands would be better than Breeding Pool, but am not willing to drop obscene amounts of money on cardboard. If you have a suggestion for a better alternative to some feature of the deck, please feel free to mention!

Update 1

Decided to swap the two copies Ichorclaw Myr to make space for two copies of Rancor, which I've decided to run in the main deck while the Blossoming Defenses hang out in the sideboard. Chump blockers have become a bit of a problem for the deck and I like the versatility of a bit more trample capability vs. the protection capabilities of the Blossoming Defense. In matchups that are heavy on spot removal, the Blossoming Defenses can easily be sided back in.

Also, I have decided to switch out the extra Spell Pierce in the sideboard for a copy of Wild Defiance, which I primarily side in for Sylvan Library. The extra card draw is not always necessary, and a pump engine like Wild Defiance can help the deck kill considerably more quickly.

Update 2

Exploring running Botanical Sanctum in place of the basic lands. Playtesting has demonstrated that basic lands are not especially important, and the extra speed from the fast land makes a lot of sense.
