This is not your standard Teysa, Orzhov Scion deck. This is a highly tuned Shadowborn Apostle deck with Teysa, Orzhov Scion at the helm for synergy. Being able to sacrifice my Shadowborn Apostle s to obtain flyers or use as additional bantha fodder enables this deck to go off. The point of this deck is to sacrifice the Shadowborn Apostle s either to their onboard ability or to various free sacrifice outlets within the deck for accumalated value and combo wins. Getting free demons is a plus, but not the way it wins. With Teysa, Orzhov Scion out I get free 1/1 spirits, with Grave Pact I can wipe the board, with Remembrance out I tutor up more Shadowborn Apostles, and the list could go on. Most games, this deck flies. The first demon I ever want to get out is Razaketh, the Foulblooded if I want to win quickly, because I can use my spirits as bantha fodder to tutor out answers and combo pieces. Seven out of the ten ramp spells come out turn one or two so that I can pull out Teysa, Orzhov Scion turn two or three. Most of them do give me access to white which is vital because I do not run Plains within this deck. Plus, some games I will have to hard cast my demons and those ramp spells will allow me to overcome that obstacle. As redundancy to the sacrifice ability on Shadowborn Apostle , I am running Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar for lots of mana and Viscera Seer to smooth out my draws. All three of these can be used to go infinite with Darkest Hour + Shadowborn Apostle + Teysa, Orzhov Scion or any creature, really. Add in Blood Artist and you have killed the table. Good job. The three true card draw spells are in the deck for added value, but the deck's bread and butter is tutoring out what it needs in the moment. I run three versitile single target removal spells and no board wipes, due to the limited space within this deck. Instead, I rely on Grave Pact , and Dictate of Erebos to clear the board of wide threats when it gets hot. Teysa, Orzhov Scion can handle the tall threats all on her own, so watch out. Living Death at it's worst will retrieve my Apostles back late game, but usually can be a win condition if played at the right moment; also wiping my opponents creatures off the map. This deck is my ultimate Johnny deck, it's so much to fun to play. +1 if you like it! Suggestions are welcome, but I have been considering cards and tuning this deck for more than four years. If I were to add anything, it would be more untapped dual lands.
