Sideboard

Pros:

  • Highly recommended for sadists (or masochists, depending on your opening draw).
  • You get to be "that guy."
  • Frequently elicits angry rage-quit messages from opponents.
  • It can beat almost any deck in the meta, as long as you draw the perfect best hand and your opponent draws the perfect worst hand.
  • Doesn't really matter what beefy 9/9 creatures your opponent is dropping on the battlefield, if you hit the combo, then it's game over for them.
  • Bolster your win-to-loss ratio from opponents frequently scooping after realizing what a BS-y deck you're running.
  • Only 24 tix on MTGO https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/590922#paper

Cons:

  • Very janky.
  • Extremely variant.
  • Doesn't even attempt at having a curve.
  • Definitely NOT a tier 1 deck.
  • Can often be difficult to piece everything together if you don't get the perfect draw.
  • Bad against control and super-aggro decks.

How to Set off the Infinite Combo

You will need the following:

If you have these pieces on the field you can generate infinite burn spells. Tap your non-land mana source for two mana. Then tap Isochron Scepter with an attached burn spell. When you cast that copied burn spell, Paradox Engine will untap your non-land mana source. Boom boom boom infinite damage.

Your Non-Land Mana Sources

You will need two of these on the field or just one Hedron Archive.

Creatures

Artifacts

Artifact Tutors

These cards will help you fetch the missing pieces of the combo.

Inventors' Fair is nice because it can tap for one colorless mana or you can sack it for 4 mana to tutor any artifact.

Burn Spells

Make sure to have one of these in your hand when you cast Isochron Scepter. If you do not have a burn spell in hand, Isochron Scepter will land on the field with nothing attached and be fairly useless.

Lightning Helix is my favorite because you get the bonus 3+ life added.

Other Spells

This is just an overall nice card. Helps to fix our mana since we are a 4 color deck running only forests and islands. (Note, however, that you don't really need the red or white mana since the attached burn spells only require two colorless mana to cast when they have been successfully attached to Isochron Scepter.) Prophetic Prism also draws a card to help fetch all our combo pieces.

This helps protect us from counter spells. Also consider attaching a Dispel to a Isochron Scepter and countering any instants coming your way. (The advantage of attaching Dispel to Isochron Scepter is that you now have an endless supply of the counter, so long as you have two mana to spend on it.

Bae #1. Great card to have in your hand to add a red mana to your mana pool.
