One of the things why I love pioneer is... Aetherworks Marvel !!! Instead of playing the normal Temur Marvel, I'm doing a lot of brews (normally I dont publish them in TappedOut), and one of my favorite (and more competitive) versions is that.

Basically the deck is built aroud Aetherworks Marvel . Is the simple idea of the old-days standard: get 6 or more quickly, play Aetherworks Marvel , find a threat and win the game :)

But what are the threats in Pioneer? In this deck we have Emrakul, the Promised End and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger . I saw that other people also plays Ugin, Spirit Dragon, but I don't like it to be an Aetherworks Marvel threat, because it don't win the game immediatly, and the objective of the deck is to kill as fast as possible.

The cards that give us energy are:

  • Attune with Aether : Gives us very fast. Also helps a lot to fix our mana, is one of the cards that helps us to play 4 colors, and is the card that allows us to play only 22 Lands

  • Harnessed Lightning : If you play a deck that uses , this card is simply one of the best removals that you can play. If you need urgently to activate Aetherworks Marvel , you can use it to get for only

  • Rogue Refiner : Gives us , a card, and is a decent blocker, all only for . This is one of the best cards that gives , and with Aetherworks Marvel and Attune with Aether complete our trio of "Standard Banned Cards".

  • Woodweaver's Puzzleknot : This one is very effective, because it give us , that is only 1/2 of the energy that we need, and you can sacrifice it to add another time , we can get a lot of energy of this for a reasonable price. Another important thing is that this gain us 3 lives, and another 3 if we sacrifice it, and that is very good to survive prior to an Aetherworks Marvel activation.

  • Glimmer of Genius : One of the most important functions of this (appart of the ) is that is a very good card-draw spell, that can help us to find Aetherworks Marvel if we dont have it.

  • Aether Meltdown : Is very good and efficient against aggro decks, and gives us protection and , that is all that we need!

  • Oko, Thief of Crowns : What can I say about this gouy that other people haven't said yet? One of the best things that can do is against aggro, that is one of the most probelmatic matchups.

  • Teferi, Time Raveler : Like oko, this is one of the most played cards recently. He offers a very good value at low cost

  • Abrade : I put it here instead of other removals that do more damage like Lava Coil because Abrade is also decent removal, and in some matchups it will be important in game 1. Like in Aetherworks Marvel mirrors, Affinity or "Storm" decks (to destroy that Aetherflux Reservoir ).

  • Deafening Clarion : This is very effective against aggro decks or decks that want to put pressure with a large board, killing a lot of things and will help us to get some time to "roll" that Aetherworks Marvel
