Maybeboard

Planeswalker (1)

Hey everyone, This is a little concoction I have been working on for quite a while. Sisay combo/control. The deck is meant to stall the game out until you hit a combo piece and tutor for the other, then finish the game in one turn. The deck runs many win cons and can just aggro out or cause the board to completely freeze. I'm looking for more infinite 2-3 card combos or tutor-able combos for the deck. The deck plays well on a 1v1 setting or multi. Haven't really had the time to test it out lately in competitive but it ran well against Scion of the Ur, elfball, Jenara, Meren, Vehicle Aggro. and other comp. decks. LMK if you guys have anything out there that can help me improve.

Anyhow let's get down to the funzies:

Combos and Win-Cons

  1. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Living Plane /Nature's Revolt/Kamahl, Fist of Krosa
  2. Gaea's Cradle + Hokori, Dust Drinker /Growing Rites of Itlimoc
  3. Mindslaver + Mistveil Plains
  4. Selvala, Heart of the Wilds + Umbral Mantle
  5. Pariah's Shield + Rhonas the Indomitable /Avacyn, Angel of Hope...No Stuffy Doll :(
  6. Linvala, Keeper of Silence + Nature's Revolt /Living Plane
  7. Kozilek, Butcher of Truth(Win-con)

The board state can also be put into favorable conditions by dropping Teeg, and melding Bruna and Gisela into Brisela. This pretty much stops most threats from being cast, however it is a bit mana intensive and requires ramp and a good pilot.

Overall the deck is non linear and behooves one to be able to pilot it properly.

Why no Planeswalkers after the recent errata since they are now tutorable? Truth is they don't help expedite the combos or do much for the board state to excuse their cmc. Karn and Elspeth Sun's Champ. were tested but were in my 6 slot and 7 slot, both of which have better tutorable combo creatures. Maybe I would take Mageta out for Elspeth, but haven't had the time to play test.

Why so many fogs? The deck use to have a hard time against aggro decks initially. Elfball, vehicles and weenies were a huge pain if I didn't top deck into a board wipe or draw one in opening hand. Sisay sometimes has issues winning quickly, so I took a strange route building this thing and dropped into it as many fogs as possible. Now aggro decks have a severe time taking the deck down, before running into at least three fogs. Just have to make sure to time them correctly.

Why Ugin's nexus? It's a tutorable artifact with Sisay that stops many blue decks and red decks from going off with extra turns. My play group includes a Niv deck that always went off for 3-4 extra turns.

What if Sisay dies? Make sure to throw a bigger threat on the field before casting Sisay to draw out the kill spells, alternatively cast before t4 to rush the first tutor.

Opening hand I always prefer some mana dorks or land ramp and some fogs to creatures. Also having a combo piece on hand or a tutor like enlightened tutor on opening hand helps a lot.

Will update soon, this is my first deck on here so any help is appreciated, hit the upvote if you enjoyed!

Match Ups(What to do...)

Against Scion of the Ur and Ezuri

Grab a fog or two, Tutor Linvala as soon as possible, put her on the field. If she dies, tutor and play Bruna, and bring Linvala back onto the field. Save fogs for after Scion transforms or after Ezuri triggers. If playing against Scion of the Ur, Hokori is a good option. Tutor Hokori and Gaea's Cradle or Growing Rites of Itlimoc. If playing against Ezuri, tutor Mageta to kill elves, or tutor Elesh Norn to kill Elves, in the mean time fog them unexpectedly. Kill any mana rocks with removal. Note that if you have umbral mantle on hand and Sisay out, just tutor Selvala instead of going the defensive route(the combos trump defense). The combo will win far before they kill you. If you run into mana trouble mid game, tutor Selvala or Gaea's cradle. Michiko Konda works well against aggro decks and elves as well, keep an eye out for her.

Against U/W counter/Control(Geist) or Draw-Go Control

Tutor Dromoka and play him as soon as possible. Also try to get Brisela melded asap to prevent counter spells or any sillyness from going off. Pariah's Shield and Rhonas also works well against non combat damage type decks, keep an eye out for them. There are more ways to go about this fellas, just explore the deck and learn :)

Against Combo Decks Gitrog Monster,Melira, Sylvok Outcast, Karador, Meren of Clan Nel toth...

Careful with sac. effects use both Sigardas to avoid Saccing, Use rest in peace to exile their yards, tutor for rest in peace with an enchant tutor if you don't have it. Use Hokori if playing against Gitrog, If playing against enchantress or zur, go buy aura shards! no one runs those guys in my play group but me, yes I am a Zur player :)

Against Narset Storm

Tutor Ugin's Nexus, Tutor Teeg. Drop Avacyn in ASAP, GG... Try to follow that particular order.
