This deck is a brew working around the interaction between
Flux Channeler
and
Pentad Prism
. Use cantrips that pay for themselves to draw your deck and kill your enemies dead.
I drew inspiration for this deck from a and a little bit from the that's been mildly popular recently.
Your main ganeplan is to resolve a
Pentad Prism
or
Gemstone Array
, then play
Flux Channeler
. Then, every cantrip you cast will proliferate the charge counters on your mana rocks, and you can draw lots of cards for free.
There are a few win conditions I'm toying with, but the coolest one uses
Forbidden Orchard
and
Virulent Wound
. Then, every time you proliferate, you're essentially
Shock
ing your opponent, and doesn't require combat. If you play prism on 2 and channeler on 3, you can potentially win that turn, if you have the orchard and wound at the ready. The other win conditions involve a combo beatdown plan that I'm still developing. I don't think I want to use
Monastery Swiftspear
, but a
Tainted Strike
combo could work very nicely if I do go that route. Cards like
Crash Through
and
Expedite
help this plan a lot.
Some weaknesses of the deck include hand disruption and creature removal, which isn't a great place to be in a format full of both. To counteract this, I'm using
Veil of Summer
and
Apostle's Blessing
, which are both fine currently. There's probably also an argument for
Blossoming Defense
or Vines of the Vastwood so that if someone tries to fatal push your channeler, you can still use the tainted strike plan.
Simic Ascendancy
is a secret, tell no one.
Some other interesting parts of the deck are
Calciform Pools
/
Dreadship Reef
/Saltcusted Steppe. There isn't a U/G one, so I'm torn on which one(s) to use, but I think Dreadship is probably the best.
Narset's Reversal
is basically a remand, but we don't need the counterspell or cost reduction synergies that storm has, so it works fine. You can let the proliferate trigger from channeler resolve from your first spell, then cast reversal, then the first spell again. We don't have a storm payoff currently, but if we added one, this would be a stronger tool and could be worth adding more.
Breeding Pools are super expensive right now because they're being used in standard bant and temur decks, so I've decided to use
Hinterland Harbor
and
Botanical Sanctum
instead.
Blood Moon
will make me a sad boi without fetches, but that's the risk, I guess.
Forbidden Orchard
is sweet, but I only have one right now. I'm planning to test it more, so time will tell if I need more copies.
