Flicker all the things

toxonic

Extended

Score: 19

Description

Seeing as how a lot of people are requesting Restoration Angel and Cloudshift in my other deck, seizure-field, i decided to try make a similar deck with white instead.

I put in venser because...might as well. I would much prefer having Acidic Slime to flicker but it can probably make do without for now.

Dropped Conjurer's Closet for Ghostly Flicker , reason being it gives me more adaptability. We will have to see how this goes though as ill need to playtest it some more.

The sideboard is setup so that the deck can change to a control setup with tamiyo and a stonehorn lock.

Fiend Hunter + Cloudshift = Permanent Exile! Just respond the Fiend Hunter 's ETB Trigger while it's on the stack and cast a Cloudshift , which will resolve first. Then, before his ETB trigger can finally resolve, his "Leaves the Battlefield" ability triggers, and goes onto the stack, then resolves. Since there was no target successfully exiled, nothing can come back into play, and nothing happens. Finally the ETB trigger will resolve and you have now exiled 2 creatures. When Fiend Hunter ETBs again after Cloudshift resolves, the first exiled creature will never come back, however the second one can, unless you also cast another Cloudshift in succession.

Basically this makes Fiend Hunter MB worthy.

Why use so many lands that enter the battlefield tapped? If you use mainly forest as lands whit a bit of plains and islands you will by faster. I think Birds of Paradise ,Borderland Ranger , card:Avacyn's Pilgrim and Rampant Growth will make sure you get the mana of the color you need if you play whit 18 forests, 3 plains and 3 islands.

And I would play a deck of only 60 cards to, though I just can't pick 3 cards to throw out of the deck.

Just curious how you would deal with Torpor Orb . I'm working on a flicker deck: Phase Shift and I have no good answer for it. Thanks for any help or advice you've got.

I think thats where i would sideboard in O-ring, but maybe a couple of Naturalize in sideboard might be added if needed. People dont tend to run Torpor Orb in their decks unless its part of their strategy (at least in my meta).

Archaeomancer combos well with Ghostly Flicker . Once the 'mancer is out on the board, if he is flickered, along with another creature, he can bring the flicker back out of the graveyard as part of his etb effect. Also, if you're going this route, why not put in Stonehorn Dignitary to finish off the combo with Venser?

I like the idea of Archeomancer + Ghostly Flicker , seems a bit costly and difficult to pull off tho, but would be worthwhile.

The reason im not mainboarding Stonehorn Dignitary is that i have that combo going on in another deck of mine and its sooo slow, and where i play is very limited for time, each matchup has a 30 min time limit to have all 3 games in.

Thragtusk seems legit

Snapcaster and cloudshift are best friends, always will be. Also seems like you have way too much land fixing for only Fiend hunter being a possible issue on turn 3. easily fixed with the Dual lands you have and 4x paradise/evolving winds. IDK if Borderland2x and 4x ramp 2x avacyn pil is needed. Just seems like too many dead slots for only fixing land Tho i guess the early game bodies are nice for rancor and geist-honored monk. Elvish visionary has a nice ETB effect and is a early game body for rancor... If your running Splicer and fiend hunter and other early ETB creatures maybe Sun Titan on your higher curve to re trigger the abilities of the creatures that graved. Plus you can flicker Sun himself. will also bring snapcaster back and if you have a mana open you can recast a cloudshift in the grave yard. .. Thragtusk is def a sweet card to flicker and is pretty much the staple for green being added to the White blue flicker, I think the deck needs to strive on its flicker utility and have less dead objects on the board like borderland and ava pilgrim. You Have 10 cards total for mana not including the Evolving.

go more blue, come on. its bant for a reason. try adding a Snapcaster Mage and a few Mana Leak s. you can never go wrong with those. and why not a Stonehorn Dignitary ? i have a deck similar to this, if you wanna check it out, to see how other people run it.

This is the best thing I've ever seen. Except Banana Hands. Have you seen Banana Hands? It's really good. It's about this kid who makes magic card decks without using any magic card decks. Cause he's on a website. But then, his hands turn into bananas and he can no longer use this crafty technique to make non-real decks. It's hard to type with banana hands...

I would take out the Spine of Ish Sah because the only thing it combos with is Venser. That's awesome, but Restoration Angel and Cloudshift don't do anything for it, I'd add in another Thragtusk or some other utility creature instead.

You are probably right, I might drop it for a Thragtusk or a Geist-Honored Monk , maybe even put something like Sunblast Angel in its place.

lBahamutZeRO, that's not how the stack works. If you respond to Fiend Hunter 's ETB with Cloudshift , Cloudshift goes off before Fiend Hunter hits the battlefield and therefore cannot target it.
