So the strategy commonly known as flicker, named after the almost ancient magic card
Flicker
which allows you to reuse the triggered abilities of creatures which abilities trigger upon entering the battlefield, has never really been a competive startegy in modern.
The deck centers around the card
Ghostway
, which allows you to flicker your entire battlefield at once. An ability that can be rather underwhelming in the early-game, though it can be powerful in mid to late-game.
The decks creatures needs to able to survive aggro, as well as be equiped with powerful triggered abilities to synagy with
Ghostway
.Creatures:
Wall of Omens
and Coiling Oracle provides you with some much needed early game card adavntage, as well as partially strong blockers and possibly ramp.
Kitchen Finks Is by far the most important creature in the deck when you're playing against aggro. The fact that it can provide you with a free blocker, as well as regain you some life as it comes into play is strong indeed. But what really makes it broken in the deck, is its unaturally good enteraction with
Ghostway
, it could potentiolly become an absolutelly unbeatable blocker, by resetting its presest ability all the time.
Vendilion Clique. Wincondition, flashbkocker, combodestroyer, card degrating or card opgrating, freedom by choice. What's not to like.
Eternal Witness Flicker it with
Ghostway
. Return
Ghostway
to your hand. By happy :)Is also has a very important synegy with fetchlands. It allowes you to get more mana when you need it, and you really wanna reach five on turn five.
Flickerwisp is the perfect card to follow up one of the decks two-drops with. (And i seem to have fetish for 3 powered fliers)
Restoration Angel Wincondition, flicker, alongside yet another flash creature. (3 power of caurse)
Stonehorn Dignitary good against Twin, and good against aggro, not so much against most other combo decks, nor control.
Thragtusk
is the end of the curve, it is two huge abilities it brings on the board as you cast it, or as it leaves pay, which by the way tend to happen a lot in this deck. ;)
Spells:
Supreme Verdict
deals with aggro on its own, but deals with everything else along side a
Ghostway
on turn 7.
Ghostway
oh you know what ghostway does.
Path to Exile is the strongest piece of removal in modern, along side maybe Lightning Bolt, and its much needed in this deck to stay alive.
Sideboard:
Venser, Shaper Savant can return your own creatures to your hand, so that you can recast them. Or can provide you with some much needed control, by bouncing anoying stuff we do not want in play. He is basicly the reason why this deck always beats 8-Rack
