The phoenix tribe is one not many people delve into, with little support it's not the most viable tribe one could build around. By using Jaya's spellshaping and sacrifice outlets, one can use phoenixes to their full potential by abusing their recursion.

Deck Basics

The first few turns you want to set up mana rocks and ramp. Jaya Ballard, Task Mage is a reasonable turd 3 play, but she isn't necessary. Adaptive Automaton , Hazoret's Monument , or refueling your hand/ramping more are much better turn 3 plays for the deck. Once you have enough mana, you can set up your utility like Vanquisher's Banner and Sunbird's Invocation and begin playing your phoenixes. When discarding cards, focus on getting rid of recurable phoenixes such as Firewing Phoenix , Shard Phoenix , Magma Phoenix , and Skarrgan Firebird for the best results.

Winning

This deck's main way to win is via burn spells and hitting your opponents with your phoenixs. Most of the burn spells multiple players. Spells such as Brass's Bounty and Mana Geyser can increase your mana for the turn to cast a large X-spell such as, Earthquake or Molten Disaster . Mob Rule is also a feasible way to win with the deck, but can be replaced with Insurrection or Disrupt Decorum .

In Conclusion

This is a fun casual deck to bring out whenever you're going against lower power level decks. There's 3 other phoenixes you cad add if you choose, such as Immortal Phoenix , Firestorm Phoenix , and Arclight Phoenix . Arclight may not fit into the deck as well as the others however, but can be added nonetheless.
