This RDW variant utilizes the Devotion mechanic in the form of Fanatic of Mogis to deal a chunk of damage to finish off an opponent after the beatdown creatures do their damage.

Using creatures with multiple red mana symbols in their casting cost is key to dishing out a hearty helping of burn. Boros Reckoner, Burning-Tree Emissary, Ash Zealot, etc. all contribute to this end. An opening hand with two BTEs and a Fanatic is sure to wreck some havoc.

Added Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx from the Maybeboard to the Main Deck, since it works wonders with a devotion-based deck. As a Legendary, two should be enough, as I want to avoid a dead draw as much as possible. Testing out Awaken the Ancient to see how it fits in with the theme of the deck, based on a suggestion by infinitemana. I'm a bit worried how the addition will affect the curve but I will have to playtest to get a better idea.+1 Fanatic of Mogis, +2 Purphoros, God of the Forge, +2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, +2 Awaken the Ancient

-2 Mizzium Mortars, -2 Mountain, -3 Chandra's Pheonix

I had forgotten about one of my favorite cards - Rubblebelt Raiders! Its impact on devotion is significant, and it serves as a wincon in its own right. Power to the people!+2 Rubblebelt Raiders

Removed Young Pyromancer since there aren't enough instants/sorceries to trigger the chump blockers.

Electing to keep in Chandra's Phoenix though for the +2 to Devotion, haste, and evasion.

I know you gave your reasoning for the Chandra's Pheonix, but devotion is all about permanents, and the pheonix is about spells. My deck might give you some ideas: Red Devotion Wins

infinitemana - I appreciate the input and I'm persuaded to agree with you on Chandra's Pheonix. Awaken the Ancient also seems like a solid choice, especially with the devotion bump & 7/7 haste.

someone - Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx should definitely be included, and Purphoros, God of the Forge as well. I appreciate the input!
