Feelin' Sick

Description

Relatively new to the game, been playing for a few month's. Trying to put together a cheap competitive Poison Deck. All cards were either gotten in boosters or bought for under $2. I know the Mana Leaks are kind of a sore thumb in the primarily mono green deck, but this has been mostly put together to play against control decks that have bored and killed me slowly time after time in the past.

Comments, criticism and help welcome!

If you're looking to fend off control you need to throw in some card:Ranger's Guile for Hexproof so your creatures aren't bounced or killed from Black and Blue decks. And it can help against Red decks too. Withstand Death , Sheltering Word and card:Apostle's Blessing can help. And throwing Thrun, the Last Troll in there will help too. Wolfir Avenger will give players with Counter spells a tough time too if you Flash him in at the end of your opponents turn.

I would take out the blue altogether so you can put some of the before mentioned spells in your sideboard so when you do get match ups against control players. And Vorapede should definitely go in your main deck! Other than that your deck looks pretty fun and vicious! I'd hate to play against it!

I will write a larger comment later, but for now. Look towards getting [Rancor] from the m13 set. Maybe you should run slightly cheaper cards such as the ones you seen in my deck, but for standard. [Giant growth] or [Mutagenic Growth] will help.

Rancor Giant Growth Mutagenic Growth . Two more suggestions would be Wild Defiance and Artful Dodge .

Unnatural Predation and card:Ranger's Guile are two more good suggestions. I have showed you a lot of pumps to help you out. Unnatural predation is really good when you combine it with Wild Defiance . 1 green mana for +4/+4 and trample? I say yes.

Oh and in my opinion, I think you should run more than 4 blue cards. 4 blue cards - 4 islands. You have such low chances of getting both in one game. Try to add at least 8 more blue and I think you will be fine. Maybe the Artful Dodge and a low creature or another unblockable spell. Its your preference.

Giant Growth isn't standard anymore. Titanic Growth is in the current rotation and it's coming back in M13.

Thanks guys, my idea when I built it was to pump the Champ a few times then miracle a +6/+6 and play Triumph of the Hordes for an automatic win. Obviously this doesn't always work as planned, so I threw some titanic growth in there because 4/5 times I would start the game with Revenge of the Hunted in my hand. My main concern, or I should say the reasoning behind the3 autumn's veil and 4 mana leaks is that I'm afraid of the go for the throats, doom blades, mana leaks, cancels and the like getting rid of my Champ who this deck hinges on. I think I will def. put The rangers guile and wild defiance in my sideboard if nothing else.
