Sideboard

A slightly different take on traditional U/B Fae, going all in on tempo control. Revised after the printing of Faerie Seer, which allows for a relevant turn 1 play that also enables Wizards Retort as Counterspell in modern. The deck focuses on precise control, preventing and removing key pieces of the opponent's strategy until it "turns the corner" on turn 4 by locking their lands out with Mistbind Clique, Exhaustion, and Cackling Counterpart synergy. The deck's one proper bomb is Demon of Catastrophes, who is easy to cast and has fantastic power/toughness compared to our other creatures.

The deck's worst matchups are dredge and burn, which is why the sideboard is the way it is.
