News travels from the west, telling of a cloaked figure who possesses a strange and unique ability. A fugitive of justice, and the Imperium, the woman cloaks herself in mystery. Kings and Queens fear her approach, bolstering their palace guard, in an effort to cling to their riches. Only the fluttering of tiny wings were reported, heralding an empty vault.

The woman laughs to herself, for no secrets are safe from her eyes, no treasury locked too tightly, and no foe too powerful. Silent as the night, she slips behind enemy lines, striking at the heart of their pride. In an effort to cure themselves of her plague, they summon the Imperium's most illusive Justiciar, the Inquisitor of the Night.

The man laughs bitterly to himself, finding only empty leads and false trails. Despite his fabled strengths and purpose, he is continuously led forward, a tool to be used and exploited. The man cares not, for the woman's deeds expose the wicked and lawless for who they truly are. Through injustice and lawlessness, corruption and malice are exposed, only to be expunged by the Imperium.
