Well, I've finally put enough work into this deck to consider it one of my real EDH decks.

I made this deck for a few reasons:

  1. Everybody says you have to play Red in storm decks. Every time I mentioned "Oona Storm," the first response was "you should play Jeleva instead." I just have to break the mold.

  2. Oona is my favorite legendary creature. She's a powerful creature who's effect represents her flavor perfectly.

  3. I just want to cast Tendrils on some bitches.

So this deck has a few different win conditions:

Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake
This gives me infinite mana, which I then use to exile my opponent's decks with Oona. This is the easiest way to win. It usually comes together when I'm in the middle of casting a ton of spells.

Future Sight + Helm of Awakening + Sensei's Divining Top
This lets me draw my deck and build up a really large storm count (usually 40+). A Tendrils will win the game.

Goblin Charbelcher + Mana Severance
I blast a player for like 50+ damage and then I get to stack my deck. In 1v1, this tends to immediately win the game. In Multiplayer, this sets up my storm, which tends to immediately win the game.

Oona, Queen of the Fae
Unlike most storm decks, if I end up making huge amounts of mana with High Tide, but end up running out of spells to cast (you know, whiffing), I don't just let all of my work go for nothing. Oona can exile a large chunk of somebody's library, and then proceed to swing in for a ton of damage with her legion of faerie rogues. This win condition is particularly nice because it usually only happens really early in the game, and early aggro with this kind of deck is pretty nutty.

Changelog:

10/23/2014:
-1 Phyrexian Arena
+1 Vampiric Tutor

Phyrexian Arena was too black intensive to be of value. Having another cheap tutor in the list seems to be incredibly valuable.

11/4/2014
-1 Dimir Signet
-1 Fellwar Stone
+1 Dig Through Time
+1 Treasure Cruise

The little mana rocks just didn't fit the deck. The less cards I have in the deck that don't draw me more cards, the better. I had a Dig Through Time lying around, so I decided to try it and Treasure Cruise out. I'm apprehensive about exiling large chunks of my graveyard, but I figure if I've been liking Skeletal Scrying (and I have), I'll probably like these two.

11/21/2014
-1 Long-Term Plans
-1 Time Stretch
-1 Increasing Ambition
-1 Mystic Remora
+1 Sapphire Medallion
+1 Stroke of Genius
+1 Mana Severance
+1 Goblin Charbelcher

Long-Term Plans is too slow. Time Stretch was flashy and powerful, but entirely unnecessary. Very expensive for this deck, too. Increasing Ambition is too high cmc to be of any use to me, even if it can find two combo pieces. Mystic Remora has been underwhelming as of late, and I'm not too keen on paying cumulative upkeep costs. Sapphire Medallion has a great deal of synergy with a deck as nearly mono-blue as this, and it works great with anything that untaps lands. Stroke of Genius is there for some much appreciated Blue Sun's redundancy. I finally got another Charbelcher, so I added the Mana Severance combo. Mana Severance is great for the deck because if I'm trying to naturally storm off with Future Sight, I don't want to keep running into lands.

11/24/2014:
-1 Leyline of Anticipation
+1 Time Stretch

Wow, I usually wait more than a week before I figure I made a terrible deck building decision. I removed Leyline because It was underperforming in a deck that's literally 1/3rd instants already. I added Time Stretch back into the deck to hold space until I found something better originally, but after adding it back in, it's been performing really well. It's strange how that works.
