Updated version of R/G Energy for Ixalan. Fling Giant, Angry Robots for fun and profit.
Matchups:
UW Approach - Bad. Game 1 is winnable, especially if they are not familiar with your wincons, but post-board they have a massive advantage. Gideon of the Trials will lock down our biggest threat and his emblem shuts down using Fling to get around fog effects. Going wide is also not an option thanks to Fumigate and Settle the Wreckage. While we do have some sideboard options that can help (Appetite for the Unnatural and Lathnu Hellion) a fair bit of luck will still be required.
Ramunap Red - Poor. Unless They stumble or you get the nut draw (6 energy + T3 Pummler, T4 Invigorated Rampage) RR will win a damage race. Playing defensive is also difficult since we have few good blockers and no good answer for Hazoret.
Sultai Energy - Fair. We are faster in a race and can go over the top with Pummler if the ground clogs up. Walking ballista can be a real headache and fatal push can wipe out a buffed cub, but the rest of our threats match up well.
Temur Energy - Good. We are faster and can usually work around their removal. Glorybringer is their most dangerous threat and will usually win the game if it is not answered the turn it is played.
B/W/x Tokens - Unknown. Haven't played against these decks enough to say for sure. This deck had a good matchup against aggressive go-wide decks like zombies and monument pre-rotation, but the new token builds tend to be more control oriented.
