The reason i'm running shieldmate, is that at my FNM every single deck have creature removal spells and they immediatly destroy my Crypt Ghast or Obzedat. Using the shieldmates I can keep them alive and still have lots of mana from the crypt ghast to extort.
Don't forget about Thrull Parasite, its a good 1 drop extort creature
I actually just took out Thrull Parasite for the Vampire Nighthawk.
And yes it's a bit wierd, i'm just experimenting.
I think i'm going to drop the guildmage and exquisite blood, i know it's a cool combo, but I think something else could be better. 8 more extort creatures perhaps.
actually you should keep the guildmage, cheaper extort creature like Thrull Parasite are good but the mechanic of Vizkopa guildmage can do alot in 1 turn especially only for 3 mana. using extort on 1 drop Thrull Parasite gives you more room to do more., I dont even think you need Bloodgift Demon, seems costly to me.
keep the extort deck cheap and light with easy to cast spells and watch your opponent whittle away

hey ghepip if you ask me i would get rid of the transguild promenade/hallowed fountain and replace the elgaud shieldmate with kingpin's pet i feel you dont really need the blue in this deck for the hexproof alone. also a general tip for orzhov is keep the spell costs low so you are sure you can extort the spells you are casting. good luck with this deck looks pretty sweet :D
