I built this deck as my first deck when I got into Magic some time last year, when M13 and Innistrad were still Standard.

I dusted off the deck a few weeks ago for some casual play and had a blast with it, so now I'm looking at taking this into Modern.

I've never done anything in Modern before - so I'm pretty much out of my depth, in knowledge of cards as well as meta, so I could really use some help from experienced players.

My priority concerns are:

What cards should I be running in terms of removal / hand disruption if any?? Is protecton necessary?

In my colors what kind of things need to go in the sideboard??

Lastly is my creature base about right??

I don't have the budget for fetchlands, so please accept my mana base for what it is.
