Eureka! Laboratory Maniac's Missing Piece

Modern GU (Simic) Mill TurboFog

Jimmy_Chinchila

Sideboard

I have always wanted to win by milling myself with Laboratory Maniac on the field. One card, Selective Memory , can clear my library of all non-land cards thus is highly useful when the Maniac is on the field. The missing piece was the ability to remove lands, which has at last been found in Animist's Awakening .

Animist's Awakening + Selective Memory can get eliminate a huge chunk of library.

Traumatize clears chunks of library, is good to target with Twincast or cast end of turn with Quicken, and is more potent when cast before the other mill spells, so keep that in mind when sequencing things. Even drawn late, following Selective Memory for example, it can help clear the remaining lands to allow Animist's Awakening to hit the rest of the deck.

Quicken allows casting Selective Memory at end of turn and drawing to allow for the draw-step draw to trigger Laboratory Maniac. Quicken + Reclaim can get back something milled that is of need by putting it to library and then drawing it. If it's a sorcery and you have mana up it can be cast while Quicken is in effect. Reclaim is particularly important in case your Laboratory Maniac gets killed and you don't have another in hand. Reclaim + Temporal Mastery works by putting a milled Mastery on top at end of opponent's turn. It can help when you need one more turn to finish off your deck.

Tome Scour is best to save for when you have extra mana laying around or to help Animist's Awakening finish off the lands in your library.

Fog and Fog Bank help buy time to execute the strategy. Two more Fog in the side for Aggro decks.
