Shrine of the Forsaken Gods seems a little slow. If you want ramp may be better to cut the Shrine of Forsaken gods, for maybe locus lands. you could also run man lands like Blinkmoth or God's eye. Darksteel Citadel and Academy Ruins are two other good options since they work with affinity

Hi Jace74. Me so dumb, overread the part with 7 or more lands o_O... ty for pointing this out, gonna see what I'll switch it for.

This looks like a whole lot of fun! Well done. Barbed Battlegear could probably do a lot of damage :) stay frosty!

Hi Bobba, ty for the suggestion, but it's kinda to costly. Tried to stay at max. 2 mana per Equipment ;)

You're very welcome, mate. And I got ya, wouldn't want to break the mold.

I'd toss in a set of Darksteel Citadel because it helps with metalcraft and Affinity for Artifacts, and buffs Cranial Plating. Perhaps Master of Etherium as another win con and maybe Loxodon Warhammer as another equipment. It is over 2 mana, but lifelink seems like it would really help you stay alive long enough for your Champions to close the game.

If you don't draw the Champion or any tutors, then you could play Ornithopter and/or Memintes. (Gosh this is eventually gonna turn into affinity isn't it xD)

If you aren't aware, when you stumbled on Etched Champion (and found Cranial Plating to go well with it), you in fact have discovered an excellent, tier 1 Modern deck! Named affinity after the mechanic on Thoughtcast even though they don't necessarily play any of those cards any more. Here's a list recently that split Etched Champion with Master of Etherium. This looks like a really budget affinity combo deck. I would advice using Cranial Plating, and believe me that racks up fast! To make it faster you might want to add Memnite and Ornithopter to stack up the Cranial Plating. you can also drop Springleaf Drum turn one and get a champion turn 2! you might want to speed things up by playing a Mox Opal to play champion turn 1! But that card might be a little bit to expensive. For now it is a solid deck, but if you want more power you need to read up on affinity, I have a budget build: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/14-01-17-budget-affinity/ or the full build: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/23-04-17-wix-affinity/

Hey guys, thank you for your feedbacks and yeah, I know that this is kinda a budget version of affinity. I'll keep your suggestions in mind but first I got to get the chance to playtest this a little bit :)

Mox Opal probably wouldn't be budget, but it could occasionally get a turn 2 etched champion out.

Personally, between Thoughtcast and Fabricate, I'd drop Trophy Mage and add Ornithopter. That way you get another good target for Cranial Plating and an artifact to work towards metal craft and affinity. I also really like Myr Servitor. I think you may want to trim back the equipments in favor of more artifact creatures, so that could be a fun, low cost option.
