(Flooded Strand is better. I just only have one playset of fetches, so I kind of have to use those.)
Disclaimer - this is more of a fun deck for people who, like me, enjoy playing control without dropping $100 dollars on a single copy of Jace or Teferi. Pretty much everything in the deck is affordable, with the land base being the single largest investment and the easiest to tweak according to your needs.
Ride the incredible flexibility of three playsets of modern's premier 3 mana charms:
Esper Charm
,
Kaya's Guile
, and
Archmage's Charm
. Revel in card draw, rejoice in random enchantment/graveyard hate, and rollick in instant speed discard and token production! Then do it all again with a Torrential Gearhulk!
There are a few honorary charms in the deck.
Blessed Alliance
is removal and lifegain, both of which are fairly useful, and
Winds of Abandon
is both mediocre single target removal and a bad wrath. That's not criticism - I actually love the card. Doing both of those on one card is incredibly helpful and make it a much better topdeck in the late game.
Hieroglyphic Illumination
can either cycle as a cantrip or work as an instant speed Divination in the midgame, both of which are respectable.
This is a deck ripe for blowing fools out. It almost doesn't matter what they're doing; you have an answer, and you can tutor it up with
Mystical Teachings
. They're abusing the graveyard or pressuring your life total?
Kaya's Guile
is your friend! Going wide?

has your back! A big mean creature ruining your day?

is ready to even the odds! Don't leave home without an almost-comprehensive, budget-friendly and tutorable control suite ready to ruin your friend's FNM experience!
The sideboard gives us a little more graveyard hate, some more removal and a pair of
Disenchant
s to give us some artifact/enchantment hate.
Timely Reinforcements
is a hedge against aggressive decks and
Lingering Souls
lets us have a bit of a transformative sideboard. It's always fun to have people sideboard out removal just as you're sideboarding in the premier token producer in Modern.
