Esper Mil Unsung Hero

Standard Mill WUB (Esper)

Sideboard

I'v been playing this deck for a while now and it seems competitive (though I am in my early stages of testing). But no one else is talking about it, so I wanted to bring it up and get some thoughts/advice/feedback. It easily contentds with top of the meta decks. The hardest two matchups imo are against red deck when they win on turn 3, and any control deck with nexus of fate in it (which is the only reason I use Syncopate's). Curewntly the only answer to banefire in game one is milling it. Then side in Unmoored Ego for subsequent games.

Reasons for Card Choices: Psychic Corrosion: This card is the main win con, play it on turn 3 for best results. Debatably right to only use 3, sometimes having 4 can bog you down in the early game. Play this card, prevent opponent from winning, mill their deck. That is the primary wincon. Teferi, Hero of Dominaria: +1 allows you to draw more. -3 for board control, and mil the card you removed with psychic corroision. You should never have to -8, but almost always do it if you can. This is unless of course it prevents you from winning. Opt: Cantrips to filter top of deck and draw card, can be used with Psychic Corrosion to mil at instant speed. Moment of Craving: Godsend against aggro, remove a guy, gain 2 life, stem the bleeding Ixalan's Binding: This card is good against any match up, i love targeting things like Niv-Misset, disinformation campaign, conclave tribunal my list goes on and on. This card can make it very awkward for your opponent to play the game because you can remove essential pieces of their strategy. Settle the Wreckage: Excellent removal for threats like Carnage Tyrant and Rekindling Pheonix, or big boards that decide to full swing. Side note, it thins your opponents deck as well. card:Chemister's Inisght: Card draw MACHINE, can help you mil your opponent faster and get the removal pieces you need to sustain yourself. I only run 3 because I've noticed having 4 can really make it awkward for me in the early game. Ritual of Soot: If you don't have this card turn 4 against aggro you probably lose. Vraska's Contempt: Best spot removal in the game, sustains you against aggro, gets rid of pesky planeswalkers. Cleansing Nova: Excellent against mid game match ups and control. Either effect on this card can be used to great advantage depending on the match up. It can really slow down control opponents by taking out their flip artifacts before they can flip, or taking out enchantments that have removed your cards. Its good against aggro & midrange because more board clear = more better in these matchups. The Eldest Reborn: Busted card, 3 for 1 if you get an opponent to sac. a creature. 2 for 1 if you dont. Usually use it to recur Teferi, or nasty things like carnage tyrants. Getting creative with this card can allow you to win the game in more ways than milling. It also feels really good killing your teferi with -3 knowing you will get him back next turn with this card. Field of Ruin: Used to destroy troublesome flip lands and fetch the colors you need in the early game. You need this card in pretty much every control deck.

Please let me know if I can be doing the land base any better, I designed it so I could play lands every turn without them entering tapped. An occasional tapped land in the early game doesnt matter as much because you aren't doing anything til turn 4 usually.

The sideboard is used to complete playsets of different removal pieces, as different removal packages are necessary for different match ups. ie Negate and Cleansing Nova against control, Ritual of Soot and Moment of Craving for aggro. The main board is what I am running in MTG arena, because it offers the most versatility against most matchups.
