You have only 1 white source... not good. Drop a couple of islands for dual lands (glacial fortresses or seachrome coasts). You don't have enough shuffle effects to make Index good, without them, it's bad. All you can do with it is see that either you'll win, or get wrecked, and you can't even draw a card off it.
A sideboard should be full of solutions to specific problems. I could be wrong, but cards like card:Conjurer's Closet and Talrand, Sky Summoner ... in what situation would they answer a specific problem your deck is facing? Don't add cards that 'just didn't quite make the Maindeck cut' to your sideboard, they're never going to make the cut.
the mana base sucked so bad that the rest of the deck couldnt do anything. In playtesting you didnt have the right mana ever even with the Evolving Wilds . also have you looked at a real delver list it doesnt run stuff likeNegate , Mass Appeal , Mind Sculpt or Midnight Haunting . Thought Scour is there for the Tamiyo, the Moon Sage win and the Snapcaster Mage flash back which you have none of. up the duals to 4 of each and replace the Isolated Chapel with Glacial Fortress . As of now you have just made a terrible version of delver with a poor mana base. heres a esper delver list you can throw an exalted spin on if you want to and not have the deck suck.deck:esper-delver-easy-list
or your playing style isn't like mine. This deck works very well between the spells and mana. Having actual cards is better than computer playtesting. Trust me on that. 3-4 times I get exactly what I need when I need it. Delver t1, flip, knight of infamy swing for 4 on t2. T3 another knight or i keep open for mana leak. It plays well, maybe you were just trying too hard. We all have different strategies. Thanks for the input though, pud.
i tried out your Delver a la Drake against my deck:esper-delver-easy-list and your deck got massacred every game i tested 6 games and the closest you were to ever winning was me down to 8 life. Negate i like more in the side board for the mirror match or black white tokens. the thing about the list i made is that it could easily be converted into a different style of deck like how this person was trying to go exalted. btw Thought Scour helps me set up my Snapcaster Mage and lets me win with tamiyo emblem on the board
snapcaster= mana leak. Snapcasters flashback=negate. Andninuse mill solely on opponents I study your graveyard. So this deck does work just fine. Its control, and I like to control everything, and I also like delver swinging heavier than every delver deck out there on turn 2 and 3. Your right where it may not be THE esper delver style, but I take things from top decks and make them a little different. Its a game, get over yourself.
i could be wrong but why not just drop black(keep duel lands for lingering souls) and go blue/white exalted sublime archangel+tokens+invisible stalker= epic lol. i also recomend dropping mill for more counterspells, draw, oblivion ring...ect. but hey if what you got works, and you have fun playing it don't change a thing
How about some equipment? Even if it is just a card:Runechanter's Pike.
Anyway, it appears you've cut all of the utility creatures from a typical Delver list (ie Snapcaster Mage and Restoration Angel ). This hurts your ability to stay in the game if it wanders past the first 5-6 turns. The creatures you do have are quite vulnerable to most standard removal, Oblivion Ring hits all your creatures but Knight of Infamy and Go for the Throat /Dismember hit all but Knight of Glory . Not to mention other forms of temporary removal, like Vapor Snag .
To me, the list just feels too "cute." There really is no reason to play Mind Sculpt unless you're trying to mill them out (which this clearly is not doing), or without having mainboard graveyard hate (specifically Surgical Extraction , which isn't even in the side). You also have no removal, which is odd considering you're playing Black.
Lastly, what's your plan in the late game? Most Delver lists can rely on Moorland Haunt or a late Geist of Saint Traft /Restoration Angel or even Snapcaster Mage . It looks like, if your opponent wraths the board, you lose (equipment also helps later in the game). You also completely lose to card:Curse of Death's Hold.
-4 Mind Sculpt Doesn't make sense in this list.
-1 Gitaxian Probe Not needed as a 4-of.
-1 Knight of Infamy 3/3 is probably a better split than 3/4.
+1 Lingering Souls Incredible value off of one card, need 4-of.
+1 Mana Leak ALWAYS A 4-of.
+2 card:Runechanter's Pike Gives any creature late game pressure and closes out the early game very smoothly.
+4 Snapcaster Mage Utility creature, gives you more options and bodies late game, and flashing in a 2/1 end of turn and just getting in for damage, is not bad either.
+1 Dismember Very versatile removal, flips Delver, pumps Pike, can be cast for 1; what's not to love?
Just some thoughts on the list.
thanks for the input :-) I like mind sculpt main deck so I can see your graveyard and tell what you are playing. And then side it out if I need to. It works very well actually. And I own this stuff, I may buy some snapcasters soon but not at present time. Only own 1 pike :-( or I'd deff be playjng it.I've got a couple stalkers..I'll deff take a gander into these suggestions! Thanks!
