Ephara, God of Value Town (Budget EDH)

Commander / EDH* Budget Control Tempo Tokens WU (Azorius)

Futuremonk

This began as a Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun clone deck, but I had to cut a few clone-making cards for space and price, and I since I wanted good clone targets I already had a flicker/value town sub-theme. Seemed better to switch to Ephara, God of the Polis and have an indestructible card-draw engine for the commander.

To try to get extra value from Ephara, not only are there several flicker and clone effects, but several of the creatures have flash as well. So you can cast one on your turn, then save a flash creature to cast on an opponent's turn and draw two extra cards that turn cycle. It might not occur all that much, but it is a nice extra piece of tech to get the most out of the deck's commander.

The gameplan here is basically to tempo your opponents out of the game. Bounce or exile their creatures, copy their best ones, and keep flickering and copying your own to get extra ETB triggers. It definitely requires some calculating gameplay to make the most of it, but I like how it turned out.
