Maybeboard

Emry provides value and ability to cast our artifacts again after they've been removed, making reanimation of our non-token artifact creatures possible, and allowing us to replay artifact threats that have been removed.

Try to fill the board with enough 1/1 artifact tokens to use as chumps until you can assemble the combo or stick a whomper down. Painter's Servant/Grindstone, is our main combo, and we have enough artifact tutors to get them.

If things seem threatening at the table, just copy them. This deck has a really nice clone package, and copying the biggest table threats should be more than easy, while still getting plenty of draw. Metalwork Colossus, and Tidespout Tyrant are nice big bodies to swing with. Besides exile spells, we really don't care too much about removal, and the swarm of constructs and thopters tend to always keep Emry's casting cost at just 1B. Insane really.

I used to use a Skullclamp to abuse 1/1s for draw, but realized that between the other draw and recursion, we honestly could use that slot for a bigger threat. So it was replaced with new Karn. Karn shuts down our opponents' mana rocks and really lets us get a fast advantage, plus his minus ability is borderline broken. You can just get whatever artifact you want from outside the game. Pretty dumb/great.

Some final notes:

  • Try not to use the bounce spells on opponents' creatures unless really needed. They are intended to bring Emry back to our hand in the case he is dealt with before having enough of an artifact footprint. In a bind they can be used to pop a threat away.. but usually unnecessary since we have chumps.

  • Since we are Mono-Blue, Vedalken Shackles can pretty much steal anything by mid game.. so late game threats from others can become ours instead. Yay!

  • Blackblade Reforged is a smashing fun time. It get's out of control in this deck for some reason. I've yet to identify exactly why, but it does WORK.

  • Domineering Will is sneaky as hell. Use it wisely.

  • If able, use Aphetto Alchemist with Arcanis. Draw 6 cards per turn in addition to our usual draw! Things like this make the addition of Thassa's Oracle as a win-con a reality.

  • You could potentially also add in the Scepter combo with the 2 Monoliths in the Maybeboard, but I didn't really design this deck to win with unlimited mana, and it's not instant heavy enough in my personal opinion to include the Scepter. If you can't get Servant/Grindstone going, there are plenty of other pieces that can end a game, and if the game is stalled out for a while, you can usually hit the Oracle win via lot's of draw as mentioned above.

Anyway, I'll be tuning this as new sets release, so feel free to talk about it in the comments. =)
