A standard combo-centric Emry deck; the plethora of combinations to achieve victory keeps the deck from feeling stale for a long time.

Intuition - the most common ways I would use this is to find missing combo pieces (only if they're artifacts, so they can be recurred with Emry, Lurker of the Loch or three cards that are extremely similar or achieve a similar goal or three utility artifacts where you don't care if two of them get dumped in the graveyard.

Minamo, School at Water's Edge - can Emry, Lurker of the Loch early game. You can also copy the with Rings of Brighthearth to cast two artifacts from the graveyard instead of one.

Emergence Zone - Same reason people play Leyline of Anticipation and Shimmer Myr , for essentially allows you to win at instant-speed.

Hedron Crab - Great for digging into the library and gives fodder to either block or sacrifice to Phyrexian Altar or Ashnod's Altar . This card is close to the chopping block however as you can cut it and the fetch lands for other combo routes or saving money.

Shimmer Myr - The card that can allow for instant speed victories. Much better than Leyline of Anticipation in this deck since we don't need it in our opening hand and when we are ready to win at instant speed, Emry, Lurker of the Loch can recur Shimmer Myr from the graveyard.

Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar - they combo with Thousand-Year Elixir to dig into a deck. The small combo is:

  1. Sacrifice Emry, Lurker of the Loch to Ashnod's Altar to generate and return Emry, Lurker of the Loch to the command zone
  2. Cast Emry, Lurker of the Loch to mill four cards
  3. Activate Emry, Lurker of the Loch 's third ability to cast cards from the graveyard to further reduce her cost
  4. Repeat as many times as you want/can

Echo of Eons + Narset, Parter of Veils - this combo is a little self explanatory by essentially resetting each opponent's hand down to 1 card while you draw 7. When accomplished early enough, this combo can essentially win you the game. This combo can become even more potent by only costing for Narset, Parter of Veils if you have Lion's Eye Diamond . What is even more disgusting is that Narset, Parter of Veils can find either Lion's Eye Diamond or Echo of Eons for you.

Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter - When you have mana rocks in play, an Isochron Scepter with an imprinted Dramatic Reversal can generate infinite mana and infinite for Emry, Lurker of the Loch

Emry, Lurker of the Loch + Rings of Brighthearth + Tezzeret the Seeker - High mana cost combo, but important

  1. Must have Tezzeret the Seeker , Rings of Brighthearth , a ready Emry, Lurker of the Loch on the battlefield and
  2. Activate Tezzeret 's -3, hold priority
  3. Copy the activation of Tezzeret 's ability using Rings of Brighthearth
  4. Resolve both effects and fetch Basalt Monolith and Mesmeric Orb
  5. Activate Basalt Monolith for
  6. Activate Basalt Monolith 's ability, hold priority
  7. Copy Basalt Monolith 's ability using Rings of Brighthearth
  8. Resolve the copied ability, and then responding to the original copy Basalt Monolith for
  9. Resolve the original copy of the activation.
  10. Repeat steps 5-9 for . Mesmeric Orb will trigger with each of Basalt Monolith , milling our entire library
  11. Activate Emry, Lurker of the Loch and follow one of the "Winning the Game" combos

Winning the Game

Using any of the loops that generate infinite storm count you can win by having Aetherflux Reservoir in play and gaining infinite life and shooting the table until you are the last one standing, or you can Brain Freeze everyone.
With infinite mana there are way too many things that can be listed in this deck primer; you can be as creative as you want. But the simplest ways to win would be to use Urza, Lord High Artificer 's third ability and cast all the spells in your deck or you can make an infinite Walking Ballista and ping the table to death
This win is the simplest, but most risky. If you have a Jace, Wielder of Mysteries on the battlefield drawing a card wins you the game or slamming a Thassa's Oracle will win you the game
This card has become one of my favourite cards to play with: after your play group has figured out your simplest ways to win they will start to try and prevent you from having the cards necessary on the board. Being able to use Conjurer's Bauble has a high skill floor and ceiling for knowing when to use it as a last resort, as it can be used to fulfill a win using any of the above win conditions. Most combos can replace Conjurer's Bauble with Codex Shredder if you already have

Infinite Mana

  1. Have a ready Emry, Lurker of the Loch and emptied your library, and at least a couple mana rocks
  2. Activate Emry, Lurker of the Loch 's third ability and target card:Conjuror's Bauble and cast it
  3. Activate card:Conjuror's Bauble and target Dramatic Reversal , making it our only card in library and then drawing it
  4. Cast Dramatic Reversal , untapping Emry, Lurker of the Loch and your mana rocks
  5. Loop steps 2-4 for

Using this loop with Conjurer's Bauble essentially opens up the other win conditions once again. Think of it as a combo piece insurance policy.

Killing Gitrog Monster:

  1. Use steps 1-5 for infinite mana using Conjurer's Bauble .
  2. Activate Emry, Lurker of the Loch 's third ability and target Staff of Domination and cast it
  3. Untap Emry, Lurker of the Loch using Staff of Domination
  4. Activate Emry, Lurker of the Loch 's third ability and target Conjurer's Bauble and cast it
  5. Activate card:Conjuror's Bauble and target Swan Song and draw it
  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to cast card:Conjuror's Bauble
  7. Activate Conjurer's Bauble and target any spell that Swan Song can counter, and draw it
  8. Cast the dud spell, hold priority
  9. Cast Swan Song and counter the dud spell
  10. Repeat steps 3-9 to make infinite 2/2 flying Swan tokens
  11. Use Emry, Lurker of the Loch 's third ability or the card:Conjuror's Bauble loop to find an Elixir of Immortality or Echo of Eons to reshuffle your library to prevent you from dying to deckout
  12. Use Staff of Domination to draw cards until we have enough disruption to prevent The Gitrog Monster from winning the game
  13. Pass the turn, prevent them from winning, and then on next turn swing with all tokens to win the game

The God Hand

Requires the following Cards: Aetherflux Reservoir , Mana Crypt , Lotus Petal , Mox Opal , Mana Vault , Lightning Greaves , Mirran Spy

  1. Cast Mana Crypt , Lotus Petal , Mox Opal
  2. Tap Mana Crypt to add and cast Mana Vault leaving you with
  3. Tap Mana Vault to add and cast Lightning Greaves leaving you with
  4. Tap Mox Opal to add and use the remaining and cast Mirran Spy
  5. Activate and sacrifice Lotus Petal to cast Emry, Lurker of the Loch
  6. We now have the Emry, Lurker of the Loch + Lotus Petal + Mirran Spy infinite mana loop
  7. With the and infinite storm count loop cast Aetherflux Reservoir and Storm the table for an first-turn kill (FTK)

***Note that you can replace Aetherflux Reservoir with Urza, Lord High Artificer and win with his mana sink ability as well and you can replace Lotus Petal with Lion's Eye Diamond

Common Questions

KCI -This is mainly a playgroup choice. Many of my friends play disruption, so I opted for more counter magic than another combo path. Playing the KCI engine and/or Blasting Station infinite combo requires you to play more artifact creatures that are 0 mana and non-X costed, thus leading to little overlap of the current combos routes being played. If I were to rebuild the deck using Intruder Alarm and Thornbite Staff , I would most likely include these two combo engines.
Mirrodin Besieged -The deck is already pretty streamlined as is, even without the aforementioned combo routes. The main reason I don't play this is because it only eliminates one player at a time; this is a playgroup decision as it feels really bad to take out one person and continue playing, when you could've been in a position to just win the game, and then start another with a full table.
Blasting Station -Although this card kills easily with existing combos in the deck, it requires me to play artifact creatures that offer nothing to other combos paths in the deck. I'd rather not play the combo at all and throw out the risk having them pop-up in opening hands or draws where I need to be making meaningful plays. Diluting the deck with non-synergistic, do-nothing artifact creatures is not what the deck needs or really wants to be doing. Then again, when playing an Intruder Alarm and Thornbite Staff combo deck this combo might be an auto-include.
This card should be in the deck instead of one of the flex slots, however the current pandemic has caused to card to spike ridiculously high; If you have one, play it, if not the list doesn't include one. I guess it, itself is a flex slot :P
