Maybeboard

I put this together after realizing that all my decks were variations of the toolbox decktype- either the commander could seek out answers to any possible problem, or the cards the deck was made out of could quickly marshal a solution to any given problem.

They were also all multicolored- except the artifact deck, but that doesn't really count.

In order to try something new, I went through my box of legends to find something in monocolor that looked interesting. We already had a Zirilan of the Claw mono-red in our playgroup so I decided to avoid red, and none of the other colors really had generals that appealed to me. Then I found my old timespiral Jolrael, and decided to give her a try.

I built the deck in my usual way, which means I went through all my boxes, picked out all the green stuff that looked interesting, and put it in a pile. Then I determined how many lands I was running, and started making cuts until I had the right number of cards. Eventually I managed to fit into the correct number and start decktesting. Testing revealed a couple flaws, which I fixed, trading out some cards for others, getting rid of color specific techs for more general coverage of major weaknesses- like what to do against flyers.

Having tested the deck against my local group in both single and multiplayer formats, I've realized that it is very potent. It's fast, ramps up quickly, and has a number of win conditions that generally involve attacking with a lot of creatures.

Moreover, since Jolrael can turn my opponents' lands into creatures, I have the perfect setup to discourage the use of boardwipes against me.

There's still a bit of fine tuning I need to do here, and obviously I could probably stand to money the deck up- which is to say replacing monetarily inexpensive cards for more expensive but comprehensively better ones- for example, I have no green planeswalkers, even though they would definitely help this deck.
