Maybeboard

The inspiration for this deck came from my wife - someone who doesn't particularly like magic.

One night, she humoured me, and offered to play. After a couple of games, and glasses of wine, she told me to to make her a 'pretty deck!'

We went through a list of pretty commanders, and she settled on Emmara, Soul of the Accord, game day promo (as seen in the list). I then went through way too many cards, trying to find the strategy I think she'd like, and the best cards to fit the strategy whilst trying to adhere to the pretty rule. Though, she ultimately wanted functionality over aesthetic, it was still something I considered when selecting cards.

The overall strategy is pretty straight forward - find a way to tap, and uptap Emmara, generate value, and build up an army, buff it and then swing in for lethal.

I had Helix Pinnacle+Crytoplith Rite+Seedborn Muse/Quest for Renewal in as an alternate wincon, because one of the things she wanted was a way to win without combat, unless she was able to do it in one turn. I opted for something potentially more explosive and cut Helix Pinnacle. May add it in later.

Anointed Procession/Parallel Lives obviously helps to build that army quicker, and March of the Multitudes+Divine Visitation/Cathars' Crusade is a great way to close out games, and Throne of the God-Pharaoh is great way to burn out the table should attacks not be able to deck through.

I also noticed that we had a large amount of enchantments whilst putting together the deck list, and decided to lean into an enchantress theme for card draw, which pleased the wife because she didn't particularly like the idea of the draw/discard from Smuggler's Copter/Slate of Ancestry.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the deck list. Though not every card meets the pretty rule, I think most at least fit the aesthetically pleasing category.

Playing a tap/untap matters deck without blue will always be a bit of a challenge. That said, this deck performs very well, and is quite feared in my playgroup for its very aggressive and value oriented nature. Though it will thrive in a 3 player pod, it has dealt with 4-5 player games quite well. I'd argue that it can compete with the token generation of Rhys the Redeemed.

Sneaky infinite combo we discovered whilst playing - Parallel Lives+Sword of the Paruns+Thousand-Year Elixir+Cryptolith Rite = infinite tokens.

Tap Emmara, Soul of the Accord to Cryptolith Rite - this generates 2 tokens you can then tap for mana thanks to Thousand-Year Elixir. Using the mana from tapping Emmara, and the tokens, you can untap Emmara to with Sword of the Paruns. repeat the process.

Always happy to receive feedback and suggestions!I think the removal package might be a bit clunky, given we have no instants, it wants to be on the offence anyway.
