Commander / EDH Elves GW (Selesnya) Tokens Tribal

AwesomeKyurem5

Description

It's your typical elf Deck. Lots of cheep elves to overwhelm your opponents by attacking with too many to block, or using one to power the rest up. This deck has quite a few strategies, the biggest one being "Presence of the Midnight Guard" (Midnight Guard + Presence of Gond ).

Step 1: Tap Midnight Guard

Step 2: Summon elf token

Step 3: untap Midnight Guard

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 until satisfied or until opponent gives up.

This deck also has cards like Joraga Warcaller, Elvish Archdruid, and Imperious Perfect to get all these elves supped up and ready for battle. Other cards like Hunting Triad, Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, and Lys Alana Huntmaster get more elves if you don't have Midnight Guard yet, or don't want a human spoiling your elf deck. Next up are the healers. With cards like Wellwisher, Essence Warden, or Blighted Steppe , your life will skyrocket.

And finally, what is an elf deck without mana. So, cards like Wood Elves, Sylvan Ranger , Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, Elvish Mystic, and Myriad Landscape, you will have no worry laying down your whole hand in a single turn.

Your playgroup might be more lenient, but I believe that Naya Hushblade cannot be used in this deck because of its White, Green and Red color identity. Otherwise, looks like a fun deck to pilot!

I suggest replacing the Hushblade with something like Bane of Progress, as many of your creatures ramp you without the need for artifacts and you have few artifacts or enchantments.

AwezomePozzum to be honest, I don't actually have a commander playgroup, yet. That never really came up. I will keep that in mind as I never considered color identity in commander until my Beauty and the Beast's artifacts deck with Garruk, the Veil-Cursed. I wanted him to be my beast, but I couldn't without adding black to the whole thing, so I did.

As for the Bane of Progress, I like it as a card, but probably wouldn't put him in here. First, he's not an elf/doesn't benefit from most of my elfs, and, second, I don't have much in this deck to guarantee that he gets big enough. I'd stick him in a kind of green artifact destruction deck, where all the artifacts have "when this dies" and the green part is anti-artifact. I might stick him in Nature Doesn't Walk if I ever get him, but for now, I think I'll replace Naya Hushblade for some other cheap mana-dork, or hexproof/shroud elf. Anyway, thanks for letting me know. ;)
