a really beast combo i cooked up in an elf deck i play is Omnath, Locus of Mana and Strength of the Tajuru . it would probably work well for you in this deck.

I would drop Mythic Proportions for Eldrazi Conscription . Getting one more mana is worth Annihilator 2.

I forgot about Eldrazi Conscription . Thanks for the tip.

So, should I add a Birthing Pod ? I'll need to add a few more 4 and 5 cmc creatures. The elves would serve as good Birthing Pod fodder. I think that if I had three more of each cmc, that would be great.

I find your lack of Elvish Archdruid disturbing.

Not so sure about Birthing Pod . I think you could do without, since adding it would mean having to change a lot of your cards around.

On a different note, I believe Wolfbriar Elemental is craving a spot in this deck, perhaps in place of Borderland Ranger or Deep Reconnaissance .

Have you considered Mwonvuli Acid-Moss ? It might be better than Reap and Sow , or it might be a good supplement if you want more of the same. Looks like a solid deck.

@UlamorsGyre: I think you are right. It needs a place in the deck and it is strictly better in this deck than Reap and Sow . Thanks for the tip.

This deck looks great. So many floating win conditions. Baloth Woodcrasher + Frontier Guide could win you games.

I'd like to see Harmonize , I had a thought that Nim Deathmantle could be fun as well with all that mana and ETBs on the creatures.

I think you should consider diversifying your lands. Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers can't hurt. It comes into play untapped but can pump your Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger , Thrun, the Last Troll , or Patron of the Orochi in a pinch (or for that extra damage).

Oran-Rief, the Vastwood could be an interesting card to add, as well.

Also, have you seen Garruk, Primal Hunter yet?

Oh. I was going to post this link, too.

I always check those lands when building an EDH deck. I can't think of a reason that an EDH deck shouldn't include any of those appropriate lands.

Yeah, gotta agree, the new Garruk would be sick in here. Reading through comments Birthing Pod can be fun & ridiculous. Sounds like a good idea. Lots of stuff in the new set could be good, how about Beast Within

Some sub ideas I came up with

Roughshod Mentor is nice, but I'd rather see more flexiblity, how about Brutalizer Exarch ? or you can go more mana for Artisan of Kozilek

Slice in Twain should grap a spot somewhere. I think you can dump a mana spell for it. Too many mana spells can turn into dead draws when you don't need them.

Awakening Zone can be really awesome in EDH. You can probably dump one of your current enchantments. Primal Rage looks a little suspect.

I'd think about dropping Wurmweaver Coil for something like Strata Scythe or some other harder to get rid of buff.

So, I've gotten over my aversion to Omnath, Locus of Mana . I don't know why I didn't like him. But, what's past is past.

Trust me on this one, these cards are all HORRIBLEYou NEED to remove the following cards:1x Baloth Woodcrasher1x Farhaven Elf1x Frontier Guide1x Krosan Cloudscraper1x Liege of the Tangle1x Living Hive1x Patron of the Orochi1x Roughshod Mentor1x Thorn Elemental1x Verdant Force1x Yavimaya Granger1x Caged Sun1x Tower of Calamities1x Howl of the Night Pack1x Journey of Discovery1x Recross the Paths1x Roar of the Wurm1x Search for Tomorrow1x Seek the Horizon1x Asceticism1x Awakening Zone1x Beastmaster Ascension1x Gravity Well1x Heartbeat of Spring1x Khalni Heart Expedition1x Mana Reflection1x Primal Rage1x Raking Canopy1x Vernal Bloom1x Beast Within1x Chord of Calling1x Decree of Savagery1x Strength of the TajuruI reccomend adding some of these cards: sensei's divining top, harmonize, sakura-tribe elder, brawn, seal of primordium, slice in twain, krosan grip, gigapede, acidic slime, rancor, mossbridge troll, oracle of mul-daya, plated slagwurm, thopter assembly, wurmcoil engine, praetor's councel, regrowth, restock, genesis, soul's majesty, sigil of distinction, sol ring, tormod's crypt, strip mine, sylvan library, life from the loam, eternal witness, and survival of the fittest.

The majority of tappedout users don't know a thing about competitive EDH, and probably started playing because it's the new "cool" thing when commander sets came out.

@Tysnatch:

The majority of TappedOut users do know how to hyperlink to cards and use html to their advantage, instead of posting a wall of text calling such cards as Howl of the Night Pack and Gravity Well bad in a mono-Green EDH deck.

Please, leave before you make yourself look worse than you already have.

Anything you post past this will just be considered trolling and will be reported as so.

@user:DonMiguel: Don't listen to Tysnatch at all. Use what you want to use. Half of the cards he said you should take out are critical to how the deck runs (like Howl of the Night Pack with 16 Forests out, lol).

July 1, 2011 3:45 p.m.

@ Tysnatch: How are any of those cards bad in a mono-green deck? Half of them are amazing, and NONE of them are "horrible."

P.S. How is Sol Ring horrible ANYWHERE?

@ user:DonMiguel: I would recommend Gelatinous Genesis and Doubling Season , as well as your basic Llanowar Elves and Joraga Treespeaker . Maybe you could also add Copperhorn Scout to do a lesser, but faster, version of what Patron of the Orochi does.

@Tysnatch: Did you even playtest the deck before you decided it was crap? The deck runs really well. You are asking me to take out the identity of the deck. I'd be making it a run-of-the-mill mono-green deck.

Why don't you make your own mono-green deck using the cards that you think would make the deck better?

I started playing commander/EDH before it became super popular.

The only decks that I've had problems with are mass removal decks and any deck running Iona, Shield of Emeria in it. Then again, most mono-colored decks will have problems with Iona, Shield of Emeria as the general.

Also, if I take out most of my mana ramp spells, I'd have to add in mostly lands to compensate which takes away from what I'm trying to do. I hate land and the less I have to put in a deck, the better in my opinion. If I happen to use most of my fetch spells and lands then I can bank on getting my best cards out.

I'll have you know that I play the GAME (and I emphasize game) to have fun. If I win, great. If I don't, I at least want to have fun. If not, I may as well quit the game all together.

On the other hand, I do agree with some of your suggestion for improvement. I will playtest some of them. Maybe you should go about suggesting cards a different way rather than attacking a person for using cards that you don't think are worth it.

-1 to you.

your discription makes me dizzy..... lol

kinda sad not to see the two big eldrazi in here :( have you thought about switching your general to omnomnomnomnomath (Omnath, Locus of Mana )? you have a crap ton of ramp and well omnom does <3 lots and lots of mana

another thing Mwonvuli Acid-Moss beats Reap and Sow in this deck (does both for cheaper)

Kudos for playing Tower of Calamities . It's hilarious.

As long as you're playing towers, I'd recommend Tower of Fortunes . More cards = more stuff = more fun.

Also, might I suggest Crush of Wurms ? Maybe take out Krosan Cloudscraper . Even though he's hilarious with Overwhelming Stampede , other wise he's just eating your lands.

I'd also just add some more land. While thee is a lot of land searching, it sucks when you get stuck with a hand full of land searching stuff and are still manascrewed. Mind you, I like to keep risky hands sometimes so... ;D

ok ignore my comment about Reap and Sow i thought it said basic land lol my bad

SandyDufresne says... #20

@CanEx I like the Tower of Fortunes and Crush of Wurms suggestions. I'll add 'em.

I've never really had a hard time with the land. However, I added three lands today. It seems to go great now.

@Justarsaus I had Mwonvuli Acid-Moss as on the maybe board for a while but never got around to putting it in for Reap and Sow but then I added Oran-Rief, the Vastwood and I needed a search card for it.

Also, about the eldrazi, it never occurred to me to put them in. I may still put them in but for the time being, I'll leave it as is.

Lure ?

Also it might be beneficial to have another answer to fliers in here. What about Killer Bees or Unyaro Bees ?

No card:Gaea's Cradle?

My favorite anti-flyer is Arashi, the Sky Asunder . You might appreciate it in here.
