zandl - Really? I ran it as a four of one week in a Wolf Run deck at FNM and it worked out amazingly well for me. I was also running card:Devil's Play and Fireball mainboard with a card:Red Sun's Zenith sideboarded, so I had multiple uses for it. A huge Fireball effect won me quite a few games, much earlier than I would have have without them.
Anyway, +1 just for using my favorite shrine! Plus elves are pretty cool guys.
After playtesting this, I find that the only card that doesn't seem to fit well is Rampant Growth . I know that it's more ramp and counts as another Green spell for the Shrine, but I've got a few reasons for not liking it here.
Just as a side note, Genesis Wave doesn't pass over Asceticism . It's a permanent. Hopefully you haven't been cheating yourself out of a card zandl! Thanks for the playtesting notes!
I enjoy the use of Fresh Meat for board wipe. +1
hmm...well @zandl if ya dont mind my concideration..possibly a Semblance Anvil would be of good use in sucha a single color deck...unfortunitly its scars of mirrodin so i think it has till feb 3rd ...if ya wanted to use it for standard of course...im using newb theory so criticism is welcomed my way...im seeing cheap elfs if ya send say a copperscout to the anvil..
next time i shall not disappoint you...thanks for that info..somebody tried tricking me an telling me its of the febuary third...an if your possibly up for explaining your reasoning on how its bad...im always up for learning everything bout this artform...thanks again
Semblance Anvil may have some very linear and specific uses with certain types of decks, but otherwise, you're dropping this on the third turn and depriving yourself of a creature. That makes you a turn down and with one less creature to cast.
Especially in a deck that has so many cards with costs like Elvish Archdruid 's or Ezuri, Renegade Leader 's, it wouldn't be used to its full effect. You would always just want another Elf to cast instead.
@Zandl
@Mafteechr
Thank you both, you've inspired me!
Wolf Shrine; the unused shrine.
Check it out guys, this is thanks to you!
zandl, we immerse ourselves in powerful battles of the minds against other Planeswalkers. Our deck is our library of spells, the lands are our knowledge of places we've seen, and our spells are our arsenal against the opposing Planeswalker.
We do use fancy names.
Melira, Sylvok Outcast would be a good addition, protect against poison, and also stops card:Black Sun's Zenith
Here is my variant guys, I hope you can give me some good feedback, I like your guy's list!
Beast Within or Prey Upon or some form of removal would probably be a good idea
4x and 3x with maasive acceleration? You should test out Doubling Chant in here it is epic in this configuration.
playtest against this...looky looky i got hooky
nice deck, please check out mine +1

It had never occurred to me that Shrine of Boundless Growth is simply perfect for Genesis Wave . The only thing that holds down G-Wave is the massive amount of mana it takes for it to be worth playing. I've been trying to find a niche for the Green Shrine for some time now (Wolf Run was surprisingly ineffective), but I think you may have found a good home for it.
I'll test this later and give you some real feedback then. I have a ton of stuff to do today.
