This is one of the decks designed to be played together in a 3v4 or 3v5 Eldrazi vs. the Gatewatch game.

The Gatewatch has the numbers advantage and the tempo advantage, so their spells are powered down, but designed to work really well as a team leaning on team mechanics like surge, support, and "friend or foe" with card choices made more for flavor and fun than power in some cases.

The Eldrazi have the power to go over the top, but that's about it. They have to wait to get their real threats out and they can't help each other much.

I've chosen to make Emrakul the one Eldrazi deck that's allowed to use colored mana, but only for Eldrazi-related spells. This was because there are a lot of Eldrazi that require colored mana; the devoid ones from Battle for Zendikar block and the emerge and transform ones from Eldritch Moon, and it felt wrong to not use such a large portion of all Eldrazi ever printed. Because of this access to colored spells, Emrakul gets almost all of the low-cost creatures and the most access to instants and sorceries, so Emrakul will be mostly the early defense for the Eldrazi while Ulamog and Kozilek are ramping up to their big threats. I didn't want to just jam an amazing four-color manabase. I decided that all lands in this deck that produce mana must produce colorless mana. This makes the fixing a bit tricky and interesting.

When deck building, I only use cards in modern or newer frames.
