Eldrazi Gateway

Legacy*

Description

My take on using Cryptic Gateway /Elvish Piper to bring out eldrazi creatures quickly.

Eye of Ugin is a MUST in this deck. You should up the Ancient Stirrings to a 3x or 4x, removing card:Belbe's Portal to do so. Great card, but a high mana investment.

Vorinclex doesn't quite fit. This is Legacy... you hardcast him and lose. You could replace him with another Ancient Stirrings .

Splashing Red would give you access to Brood Birthing and Spawning Breath . Just some ideas... Lotus Petal would be great, and any other near free mana producers to accelerate your ramp. Haste would be PHENOMENAL here. Concordant Crossroads comes to mind for mono green, Sarkhan Vol , Fervor , and Fires of Yavimaya if you splash red.

Your sideboard definitely should not be all Eldrazi. I understand you wish to gain the benefits from Spawnsire of Ulamog , however Summoning Trap is an excellent sideboard card for this deck. You'll also get hosed against Affinity, Dredge, Red Deck Wins, and 12 Post. Therefore you should sideboard accordingly with Relic of Progenitus , card:Tormod's Crypt, Ancient Grudge , Beast Within , Creeping Corrosion , Witchbane Orb , Wasteland , etc.

Thank you! I have been stuck on this without any ideas for a long time. Splashing red would really help, and I always felt this deck needed a planeswalker. Vorinclex was really just in there as a placeholder until I could find a good replacement. I am more than willing to part with Spawnsire of Ulamog , and replace him with different, more powerful eldrazi, freeing up the sideboard for the cards you mentioned. Also, card:Belbe's Portal never really did anything for me. Most of the time It's Elvish Piper helping with the summonings. Locally, I see a lot of reanimator, artifact, and control, so A lot of those cards you mentioned will come in handy. And again, thanks for all the help.

Sure thing, man. Just looking to help with some constructive criticism. My RDW is: Crimson and Ash. Mono Green 12 post: Mah Mean Green, Stomping Machine. Simic 12 Post: Touchdown! Da LOL's. And an odd one: Generous Misgivings, HAHA!

Lightning Greaves goes great on an Elvish Piper , btw. But, enchantments ala Fervor and Fires of Yavimaya are harder to remove than artifacts.
