Oh boy another Eldrazi deck

Builder's Note

This was the first iteration of my Eldrazi deck that I normally use because the other one Who let Emrakul out? costs a lot. This one should be relatively a lot cheaper and basically plays the same (without the really crazy shenanigans that happens in the other deck). This deck plays very simple and clean and doesn't require much besides playing certain cards so that you hit hard. Some improvements might occur in this deck (like having a sideboard) but for the most part this is a deck that I worked on while starting off in Magic the Gathering so it won't have major changes unless I need it to.

Playstyle

This deck is very simple to play. A lot of how the deck plays is just building mana/land in order to play your creatures to hit and kill your opponent. The "mastery" of this deck only requires a little bit of setup so that you can maximize your damage.

Setups

  1. Deceiver of Form + Eldrazi Mimic + Endless One

This is usually your big damage combo. With the way mana is setup in this deck, it's not hard to make Endless One just slap your opponent's life to 0 easily Of course, that doesn't always happen due to spells and/or creatures which can negate the big boi we summoned. However, with Deceiver of Form and Eldrazi Mimic , we can basically cause other creatures to become the Endless One we placed down and usually stomp our opponents with a lot of damage on board. REMEMBER Deceiver of Form 's effect only happens in the beginning of combat, so be aware how many mimics you used or are using and if you drew one during your drawing phase. It's not a big deal if you draw a mimic before Deceiver's effect. There are other cards that we can use to our advantage, such as Thought-Knot Seer , which allows us to control the board.

  2. Bane of Bala Ged + Conduit of Ruin + Deceiver of Form

Conduit of Ruin allows us the choose a creature card with 7 or more mana. That means our Deceiver or Bane of Bala Ged. You can use Conduit as a pressure tool but also a helpful mana reduction for the first creature spells each turn. This helps in early game, even if you have to pay 6 mana to place Conduit. It kind of becomes irrelevant to worry about when we have ways to build and bypass our mana pool to place higher mana creatures.

  3. Deceiver of Form + Reality Smasher

This isn't gonna do crazy damage unlike the our first setup, but the added fact that Reality Smasher cannot be countered unless the opponent discards a card, gives us a lot of room and pressure. That becomes a bigger sacrifice for the opponent if you clone multiple Reality Smasher and they want to try and get rid of them.

  4. Matter Reshaper + Ratchet Bomb

Ratchet Bomb is a gamble usually. It can destroy permanents on your side depending on your counter but also you destroy your opponent's permanents which then gives you the room you need to draw better cards. But if you only have Matter Reshaper as your 3 mana permanent, then Ratchet bomb becomes less of a risk and more of a reward. When Matter Reshaper dies, you reveal the top card and if it's a permanent card with converted cost of 3 or less. This helps us get another Ratchet Bomb, a Ghostfire Blade, or any creature that is 3 or less. This is more of an escape tool to slow your opponents and help you get cards to scale towards our other setups.

Early Game

Lands to Focus on

Cloudpost + Eldrazi Temple + Eye of Ugin

Make sure that you have one of these cards in your hand at the start of the game so you aren't panicking about not having mana. If you have to mulligan, do it. It is not worth trying to wait for the land that you need when decks usually have very early game pressure.

  1. Eye of Ugin

Although we cannot tap Eye of Ugin for mana, the utility of it outweighs that negative. We can summon our early creatures so much easier and allows us to have a smoother ride when scaling later into the game.

  2. Cloudpost

Having a Cloudpost early is super important. This is the beginning of our mana ramp and allows us to bring in more mana as soon as we have any other Locus type lands.

  3. Eldrazi Temple

Simple adding mana to our mana pool or for anything Eldrazi related. Brings slightly bigger creatures into the battlefield faster.

Non-Land Permanents to Focus on

Creatures

Eldrazi Mimic

Matter Reshaper

Eldrazi Skyspawner

Ruination Guide

Artifacts

Ratchet Bomb

Ghostfire Blade

Mid/Late Game

Basically look at the setups category, scale all 4 Cloudpost and use Glimmerpost for healing if needed. Make sure to keep putting pressure onto your enemy and kill them before they pull out any combo or gain enough mana to do big stuff.

Possible Changes

  1. Mana Issues

If you don't feel like you are getting enough mana fast enough, you can switch some of the lower costing Eldrazis such as Ruination Guide and Eldrazi Skyspawner for some cards that help you ramp. This also allows you to not worry about trying to find a blue land card for literally only two creatures in the deck.

  2. Not Enough Tools Against Things

Remove some creatures or artifacts that seem kind of useless against certain decks for more instants, sorcery, or enchantments. A possible change that I might make for the deck is a more blue focused deck. This allows for more shenanigans to stall for the creatures you need or want. Or even "cheat" to get cards that you need faster.
