Maybeboard


This is a Hermit Druid deck built around "eggs" (artifacts that sac for mana/draw) rather than creature reanimation. With the druid as the only creature in the deck, it is bound to hatch when Atla's egg cracks. The nice thing about this is that when Hermit Druid pops put of an egg he can't be countered, possibly making this strategy more resilient than a deck that tutors and casts the druid. With a haste enabler like Mass Hysteria out, and enough mana, the deck will win the turn druid pops out unless interrupted.

This deck is relatively fast when functioning correctly, with turn 4 wins possible, but is definitely a glass cannon. For this reason the deck might be best described as 10% cEDH / 90% jank haha. I tried to build it as low-budget as possible which is why the land base is wonky and some optimal pieces may be missing. Comments and suggestions are appreciated!

Game plan:

Note - it is safest and fastest to begin the below steps once you have a haste enabler and sac outlet in play. The combo can still be done without these, but it will be slower and with more opportunity for opponents to interrupt it.

Step 1 - Make an egg with Atla
Step 2 - Sac the egg, bringing out Hermit Druid
Step 3 - Activate druid to self-mill your entire library
Step 4 - (Must have at least 6 open mana at this point) Cast Past in Flames via flashback with at least 1 mana left available
Step 5 - Flashback Infernal Plunge sacrificing Hermit Druid or Atla for 3 mana
Step 6 - Flashback Seething Song for 5 mana
Step 7 - Flashback Scrap Mastery
Step 8 - Wombo Combo! Sac "eggs" like Lotus Petal for mana, recur them with Salvaging Station, Faith's Reward, etc. Refresh exiled cards with Mirror of Fate if needed, which will also allow you to draw safely. During combo iterations, win by dealing damage with Mortarpod/Mask of Immolation.
