Budget Goal: Edric for <$20.
How to play the deck: This deck is for casual games of EDH. You're not likely to win at FNM, but it's a fun deck to play. If you upgrade it later on, the deck can be devastatingly brutal. You basically play a bunch of evasive weenies while drawing cards for hitting your opponents. You can be political by telling your opponents things like "Don't attack me, hit that fool over there. You'll get to draw!" This deck is basically a pinger deck, but you actually have to attack. Good thing is, if you play it right, your hand should always be full, Especially if you have Zendikar Resurgent out.
Here's a tip: hold on to your Biomass Mutation or Overrun as a wincon. Don't be like some players I've seen playing various forms of this deck and bust out the buff cards just because they have them in hand. Use them as overkill, because as one of the members of my playgroup always says: "Overkill is underrated."
By the way, I count "Shadow" and "Horsemanship" as being unblockable, because there isn't a non-Edric player out there playing shadow or horsemanship creatures.

Other Cards (with explanations):
Altered Ego - Copy that other player's Avacyn, Angel of Hope
Archetype of Endurance - Your budget alternative to Asceticism
Biomass Mutation - Swing in for the win
Spellbook - Protect your hand from wasting away. This is a card you want to draw into every game
Swiftfoot Boots - It's just a little protection for Edric himself
Overrun - Another card for your swing in and win

Upgrades
There are endless upgrades that you could apply to this deck as you add to your budget. There are obvious ones like Breeding Pool, Reliquary Tower, and Cyclonic Rift. There are also some that I use in my "all-out" Edric deck that I haven't seen in many others: Aluren, Sun Quan, Lord of Wu , Chasm Skulker, and Meekstone are great additions.
