The wonderful thing about slivers
is slivers are wonderful things
their bodies are made out of sinew
they've got muscles on top of their wings
they're hasted, trample, shroud, and shadow
plus, one,
one, one,
one, one,
but the most wonderful thing about slivers is
is more than one!

Check out all of my other decks as well!

Thanks for your support, suggestions, and feedback for making each of these decks what they are today.

I have decided that I need to advertise on each of my decks the things that I am looking to acquire for each deck and, if you are a trader who has what I am looking for, feel free to look at my Binder.

I am looking for suggestions.

One day I'll get around to getting the original duals and the non budget fetches. To that end I'm making a checklist.

Instead of Phyrexian Lens you could use Spectral Searchlight so you don't have to pay life. For Dawn's Reflection there is Mirari's Wake or Mana Reflection .

Quest for Renewal could be an interesting addition to the deck.

Renewing Touch or Creeping Renaissance can help against board wipes to re-search.

All Suns' Dawn is a five color tutor.

Also, Lurking Predators .

Ohthenoises says... #3

I was attempting to get ALL of the "of any color" rocks here. Paying life doesn't concern me, as life is just a resource in EDH. I will add Spectral Searchlight though, when I can find it.

The goal here is to fix all five colors ASAP. Mana Reflection and Mirari's Wake don't fix at all they just double what I already have.

I might add a Creeping Renaissance at some point but it is kinda unneeded as of now.

All Suns' Dawn isn't a tutor and my goal here isn't to fill the yard.

Lurking Predators has merit, I might try to get one.

Ohthenoises: I barely know anything about EDH. Don't take what I say as critism, because I might be wrong.

But don't you need more Slivers?

The other slivers aren't worth including except some of the new ones like the new flying, double strike, +3/+3, and thorncaster. Maybe the lifelink one too.

There is a VERY awesome combo you can do a swarm type EDH deck.

Tunnel Vision + Patriarch's Bidding /Living Death

Using the mana from Manaweft Sliver or Gemhide Sliver , use Tunnel Vision on yourself and name Patriarch's Bidding . Next turn, play it naming Slivers, since your GY will be FILLED with a lot of slivers (and hopefully a haste sliver is in there) this brings every sliver into play then you swing to win.

GY hate could ruin your day with this, but if you have a way to draw that card in one turn and do this all in one turn its a GG. Even more so with Legion Sliver

Even by them selves, Patriarch's Bidding and Living Death are great ways to get your self back into the game after a few board wipes.

Last thing you can do with these two cards is use Basal Sliver wipe your own board then use either Living Death or Patriarch's Bidding to get the maxim effect.

Just so many possibilities! +1

also you might wanna look into Magma Sliver IMO he is the second half of Shifting Sliver just need a decent board 5-6 slivers w/ boss pop shifting and magma Tap all send boss through instant game win and with ur boss easy to pull off search for em done rofl also why not throw in an alternate win condition you got 5 colors throw in each of the guildgates and Maze's End and while they are trying to deal with your slivers come in the back door for a surprise win and if they destroy or exile Maze's End np just kill em with slivers plus while you can use Maze's End its extra recurring ramp that can help you fix mana situations

November 26, 2013 3:24 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #12

Magma Sliver has "come across my desk before" so to speak. He was cut a long time ago because cards like Maze of Ith exist and are extremely common in my playgroup. My answer to that is to run Crystalline Sliver for shroud purposes. This makes Magma Sliver a paperweight.

I had already added Maze's End to the deck in paper and just hadn't had the time to update it on here. I have done so now.

November 27, 2013 1:50 p.m.

yamicannon says... #13

ahh i c good point my play group isnt that far along yet lol if your timing is right (with the boss not a problem) play Shifting Sliver and Magma Sliver first then buff cast Crystalline Sliver then atk making their Maze of Ith useless lol takes a little longer but works non the less lol but i do c your point

November 28, 2013 3:19 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #14

Usually my playgroup has lots of removal. If I try to pump, then cast Crystalline Sliver they will remove Sliver Overlord in response.

November 28, 2013 7:05 a.m.

bloeser says... #15

That's why I always search for Quick Sliver first. Then every other sliver I search for is either cast at EOT or in response to another spell. They tap their Maze of Ith and you respond by searching for and casting Crystalline Sliver . If they cast Akroma's Vengeance , you search for and cast Crypt Sliver or Clot Sliver . If they leave your commander unblocked for the second time, search for and cast Bonescythe Sliver before damage to do lethal. With Quick Sliver + Sliver Overlord I feel like the control deck, and it's a lot of fun!

December 22, 2013 4:28 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #16

While that's true bloeser I just prefer not having to work around shroud for my own purposes but I HAVE to have shroud for my meta. Magma Sliver doesn't help me overly much aside from oneshotting someone with a general and at that point it's easier to get queen and go I infinite with her.

MaelstromHobo says... #17

Sweet deck, +1! Maybe it's not important in your meta, but wouldn't it be wise to run at least one copy of each basic land? Path to Exile , Blood Moon , and Ruination would be really strong against this deck.

If you're still manafixing, there's a few cards you may want to think about.

Crystal Quarry best friend for a 5 colour EDH deck.

Cryptic Gateway for when you just can't manafix/get enough mana.

Hope this helps! :)

March 21, 2014 5:51 p.m.

whalesequence says... #21

I know it would take a pretty penny to add, but I think you should replace the guildgates with scy lands, and replace the pho fetchlands with sharlands. The shardlands are tri colored with their only setback being that they come in tapped. Then you should replace the Maze's End with either a Mutavault or a Mana Confluence . These additions would make this already mean deck just pure evil, but if money is too much of an issue, what you are using now is just fine.

May 1, 2014 4:21 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #22

whalesequence, Thanks for your thoughts! However, I'm going to be keeping Maze's End for the main reason that everyone HATES slivers, because of that hate I need a backup win condition. Maze's End provides me color fixing on demand with a possible win condition. What I NEED is a Amulet of Vigor for Maze's End to actually provide ramp.

May 1, 2014 10:01 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #23

MaelstromHobo fortunately Blood Moon and Ruination don't see much play in my group so hey.

PooPlayer I had Door to Nothingness in here but it never was being used. It can't get everyone at once so it's only really good for getting rid of the control player at the table.

It's ok in multiplayer, draws a lot of hate but hey, it's Slivers. There aren't a lot of changelings that are useful here. Amoeboid Changeling , Nameless Inversion , and Crib Swap are both changeling spells so I'm aware of the interaction.

SaltySpecula. I think I'm good on fixing currently and I've known I want a Cryptic Gateway for a while, just never got around to getting one.

Also a 5 drop that doesn't go much but act as a beater, Taurean Mauler is better in that application.

May 1, 2014 10:22 a.m.

Fun deck +1, now are you still putting in Amulet of Vigor or is that a floating idea? M15 is coming out soon too and I saw Constricting Sliver and other cards that could potentially cause more hate and less friends, would you consider any of those cards in another update? And have you considered Virulent Sliver ? Everyone already hates slivers, why not make them hate playing this deck even more?

June 30, 2014 1:44 p.m.

July 3, 2014 7:51 p.m.

Now I know you haven't updated your list yet but I can't help but wonder why not Crypt Sliver and remove Dormant Sliver ? Because I understand the drawing power but doesn't defender make this deck not function?

July 5, 2014 11:35 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #32

Lawlietwithcake First let me update this, then I will address Dormant Sliver .

July 6, 2014 12:08 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #33

Crypt Sliver was cut a while ago because he requires the haste sliver to be much good, that and I can't attack with slivers and be able to regenerate them. Combine that with the fact that I almost always tutor out Crystalline Sliver first and that means I can't target my own slivers. Sedge Sliver does this job better while also acting as a Sinew Sliver .

Dormant Sliver is amazing because he gives me massive card advantage while making my board state look FAR less threatening. All I have to do is simply sacrifice him or remove him in any number of ways and I can use the boardstate that wasn't all that threatening before and bash face with it.

July 6, 2014 12:31 a.m.

SaltySpecula says... #34

Oh and quick question, have you ever considered Frenetic Sliver ? It's a 50/50 win/lose card, but if your opponent is board wiping you, this is a good sliver to save some of them from the wipe.

July 7, 2014 9:08 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #35

@SaltySpecula I've considered every sliver at some point. I left out Frenetic Sliver because of my playstyle of this deck, I usually spend a few turns developing a non-creature boardstate and then in one turn I flood the board with slivers for the kill. That and coin flips annoy me.

July 7, 2014 1:08 p.m.

Now you lost me. You removed Skyshroud Claim and added Market Festival ? Wouldn't tutoring for two untapped lands be more beneficial than adding any two colors to one? And this is a bit off subject but how will you fit in the Hivelord and constricting sliver?

July 7, 2014 6:03 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #37

Lawlietwithcake I only have 4 forests. Skyshroud Claim was consistently finding only 1 or failing to find forests completely. Market Festival is reliable and if I have 5 lands I can use the mana as soon as it is in play.

Not really sure what comes out. Most of the stuff is on a case by case basis so I'll remove the underperformers in favor of the upgrades.

July 7, 2014 6:18 p.m.

Have you considered any of the Legendary Enchantment Gods? I know they're not slivers or shapeshifters but Xenagos, God of Revels , can speed up damage, Athreos, God of Passage , pretty much prevents slivers from being permanently lost, and Iroas, God of Victory makes attacking more oppressive.

July 7, 2014 6:45 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #39

Lawlietwithcake This is primarily a toolbox combo deck. The gods don't really have homes here.

July 7, 2014 6:53 p.m.

erabel says... #40

Lawlietwithcake: Sliver Legion does Xenagos's job, except for every creature, either regenerate sliver or the new indestructible Sliver saves them better than Athreos in most cases, and they're already unblockable, basically, from Shifting Sliver . Just saying, Slivers are frickin' versatile. He don't need no stinkin' Gods.

Patriarch's Bidding , Living End , and Twilight's Call are up for consideration, thoughts would be appreciated.

July 8, 2014 7:57 a.m.

SaltySpecula says... #44

I used Patriarch's Bidding in my own Sliver EDH deck. It's a great situation card, but I have yet to ever be able to effectively cast it. It might be a little too situational, but it's definitely a good way to come back from being board wiped and knee capped. I assume both Living End and Twilight's Call would have the same problem.

Also, when it comes to card draw, the new M15 enchantment Military Intelligence might be worth looking at. Just generate a pair of throw away 1/1 tokens and attack for card draw.

July 8, 2014 8:01 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #45

Dormant Sliver makes me less threatening and draws me more. It's also tutorable.

July 8, 2014 8:06 p.m.

yamicannon says... #46

Patriarch's Bidding is an awesome card depending on your opponent and the situation as SaltySpecula stated so i'm just gonna focus on the opponent aspect, if your opponent is playing a mill deck or a deck with a lot of removal or even a wheel of fortune deck. so all in all i would say it depends on your playgroup hope i helped lol or confused ill take what i can get rofl also you may wanna look into Vedalken Orrery for non sliver flash just a suggestion

July 9, 2014 3:39 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #48

Lawlietwithcake Why? I already have Shard Convergence . That's a lot cheaper and not vulnerable to artifact destruction. It also pulls more land.

July 9, 2014 3:55 p.m.

Oh I'm sorry I got Shard Convergence mixed up with Skyshroud Claim . But I feel like if you use Patriarch's Bidding , Living End , and Twilight's Call it be more of a self mill or board wipe every turn kind of deck. I wouldn't know how you'd use those cards but that seems like the only suggestion I can come up with.

Also, you should consider Homeward Path , in case someone steals your commander and starts sniping your slivers. It's happened to me as well :( Oh and unless there is a lot of tribal in your meta, you could also try Harsh Mercy . Nothing like wiping a board clean except for your chittering slivers and the odd creature for each other player, humans being the annoying card type others usually choose.

Bant Charm and/or Condemn over/in addition to Path to Exile , With this you can put any other Commander on the bottom of the library instead of just back to the command zone (eat it Kaalia of the Vast ). This was more of a combo build. Brood Sliver and Virulent Sliver just don't fit in a combo build.

May 2, 2016 8:56 p.m.

CrazedRam3.0 says... #77

Combo as in, infinite combo? Or combo as in good cards that work together? Or both? Because when playing with my (very budget) sliver deck, Sliver Deck(New)Commander/EDH, I found that Shifting Sliver, Virulent Sliver and Brood Sliver work very well together, especially if you have Sentinel Sliver or the double strike one (I forgot its name) on the field. Though of course, you have Sliver Legion and Sliver Queen, which my budget can't handle right now, so your deck will be better than mine anyway.

May 3, 2016 6:51 a.m.

If you can't do

Crypt Sliver why not Clot Sliver

And you absolutely no question need to addSliver Hivelord

May 28, 2016 5:38 p.m.

hold on

why in the world is Harmonic Sliver not in the deck that's like the best removal for enchantments and artifacts

May 28, 2016 6:16 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #80

CrazedRam3.0 Infinite combo using Sliver Queen's ability. A lot of the "depends on combat" guys are weak in a combo shell. If I were playing beatdown Brood Sliver would be a fine addition.

TheDeckMaker2300 I didn't include the regenerate slib\vers because my meta has plenty of ways to ignore regeneration. Wrath of God/Damnation/Merciless Eviction to name a few. Hivelord falls into a similar situation. While he does dodge destruction effects like WoG he is powerless against Merciless Eviction and the new Descend upon the Sinful.

I didn't add Harmonic Sliver because of the combo nature of this deck, if I'm going off it's likely that your artifacts and enchantments don't matter unless it's ensnaring bridge or something (which can be Necrotic Slivered away) you're still dying to 1,000,000 sliver tokens. Also, Harmonic Sliver doesn't say "may" meaning I would have to destroy my own things.

May 28, 2016 8:07 p.m.

Have you considered adding Bring to Light? It will allow you to tutor all of your slivers, instants, and soceries but Megantic Sliver and Diabolic Revelation from your deck and cast it for free. You can essentially cast cards like Sliver Legion and Sliver Hivelord from your library at no extra cost if you spend mana of every colour to cast it. If only Bring to Light was instant speed.

It might be worth it to consider running Unnatural Selection as well as Amoeboid Changeling to ensure that you will see the combo and as a back up since either will have a huge target on their head.

Lanzo493 recently suggested that I run Arcane Lighthouse in my Sliver Toolbox deck. Arcane Lighthouse will allow you to still steal slivers while Crystalline Sliver is on the field.

Hey, just a heads up about Intruder Alarm. That card can actually backfire horribly since it untaps your opponents' creatures as well, allowing them an opportunity to activate tap abilities again. I tried running Intruder Alarm in my sliver deck, played it, and one of my friends dropped a Godsire and comboed infinite 8/8 beasts! Luckily I had a Wrath of God handy, but Intruder Alarm still gave too much advantage to my opponents for me to feel comfortable using it.
