This is a wizards tribal deck which uses a variety of combos with wizards to do lots of crazy stuff. Many of the wizards have ETB triggers, which you can double by using Inalla's ability. Cards like Panharmonicon and Deadeye Navigator help trigger them even more. Other wizards focus on tap abilities, like Azami, Lady of Scrolls and Beguiler of Wills. By getting lots of wizards with Inalla, you can tap them for Azami. Paradox Engine can untap all your wizards to use again for tap abilities.

Combos

Cards Required: 3 (2 if commander is in command zone)

Card Combinations: Ashnod's Altar + Bloodline Necromancer + Inalla, Archmage Ritualist

Steps:

  1. Have Ashnod's Altar on the battlefield and Inalla either in your command zone or also on the battlefield.

  2. Play Bloodline Necromancer, allowing it to enter the battlefield and trigger its own ETB effect as well as that of Inalla.

  3. Sacrifice Bloodline Necromancer to Ashnod's Altar to get .

  4. Pay for Inalla's trigger, creating a token of Bloodline Necromancer with haste. This triggers the ETB effect of the token.

  5. Use the ETB trigger in step 4 to return the original Bloodline Necromancer to the battlefield, once again triggering the original's ETB effect and that of Inalla.

  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 several times to get infinite colorless mana (each iteration nets ) and infinite Bloodline Necromancer tokens with haste.

Result: Infinite colorless mana, infinite Bloodline Necromancer tokens with haste.

Notes:

  • If you have other wizards in your graveyard, you can use the ETB of the original Bloodline Necromancer in steps 2 or 5 to retrieve them. You can then sacrifice the wizard you brought back to Ashnod's Altar before the next ETB trigger of the original Bloodline Necromancer when repeating steps 3 to 5. Thus, you can trigger the ETB effects of wizards on the field or in your graveyard infinitely many times.

  • If no other wizards are accessible, you will likely win by attacking your opponents with a large number of tokens with haste.

  • Remember that the tokens will be exiled on the next end step.

Cards Required: 2

Card Combinations: Dualcaster Mage + Rite of Replication

Steps:

  1. Cast Rite of Replication, targeting some creature on the battlefield (target likely irrelevant).

  2. Cast Dualcaster Mage in response and allow it enter the battlefield to trigger its ETB effect.

  3. Use Dualcaster Mage's ETB to copy Rite of Replication. In this step, Dualcaster Mage may be the original or a token.

  4. Using the copy of Rite of Replication from step 3, target Dualcaster Mage, creating a token of Dualcaster Mage and triggering the token's ETB effect.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 several times for infinite Dualcaster Mage tokens.

Result: Infinite Dualcaster Mage tokens.

Notes:

  • Unlike tokens created by Inalla, these tokens won't have haste, but they won't be exiled at the end of the turn.

  • You can initiate this combo when an opponent casts their own instant or sorcery that copies a creature. This is done by targeting their spell with Dualcaster Mage, and using copies of that spell to copy Dualcaster Mage as before.

  • If more than one Dualcaster Mage enters after each token-creating spell resolves (for example, by kicking Rite of Replication), you can also copy all other creatures on the battlefield infinitely many times by using the extra Dualcaster Mages to copy the spell and target other creatures with the spell copies.

Cards Required: 2

Card Combinations: Dualcaster Mage + Ghostly Flicker

Steps:

  1. Cast Ghostly Flicker (targets likely irrelevant).

  2. Cast Dualcaster Mage in response and allow it enter the battlefield to trigger its ETB effect.

  3. Use Dualcaster Mage's ETB trigger to copy Ghostly Flicker.

  4. Using the copy of Ghostly Flicker from step 3, target Dualcaster Mage and any other creature or land you control.

  5. If you successfully blink a land, tap that land for mana.

  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 several times.

Result: Infinite mana, infinite creature ETB and leaves the battlefield triggers, infinite wizard tokens (likely Dualcaster Mages) with haste, win game (see additional notes).

Notes:

  • Results may vary depending on your board state, but very likely you'll be able to win using infinite mana, infinite Dualcaster Mage tokens, and Inalla's activated ability. Optional steps are required to do so.

  • When blinking a land during this combo, don't choose a land that comes in tapped or costs life to use if you want infinite mana. The type of mana you can generate is limited by the lands you can blink to "untap".

  • If you opponent casts Ghostly Flicker on their own cards, you can initiate this combo by playing your Dualcaster Mage to copy their Ghostly Flicker. Though you won't be able to cast Inalla and will likely lose the tokens if it isn't your turn.

Cards Required: 3 (not including lands to tap for mana; see combinations)

Card Combinations: Deadeye Navigator + Dualcaster Mage + Turnabout + lands that tap for (total: ) or more

Steps:

  1. Have all permanents from a single combo on the field, making sure to pair Deadeye Navigator with Dualcaster Mage.

  3. Cast Turnabout, selecting the mode to untap your lands.

  4. Blink Dualcaster Mage using the activated ability given by Deadeye Navigator, triggering Dualcaster Mage's ETB effect.

  5. Make sure to re-pair Deadeye Navigator with Dualcaster Mage.

  6. Use Dualcaster Mage's ETB trigger to copy Turnabout.

  7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 several times for potentially infinite mana, and infinitely many ETB and leaves the battlefield triggers.

Result: Infinite mana, infinite ETB and leaves the battlefield triggers, infinite wizard tokens (likely Dualcaster Mages) with haste, win game (see additional notes).

Notes:

  • To get infinite mana, you need to have lands that tap for more than the minimum required mana listed in each combo.

  • To get infinite mana, you need to have lands that tap for more than the minimum required mana listed in each combo.

  • Infinite ETB and leaves the battlefield triggers are relevant for cards like Kindred Discovery and Vela the Night-Clad.

  • A similar combo may be possible using Crystal Shard instead of Riptide Laboratory, but it would require you to have enough artifacts that tap for the required mana instead of enough lands, and to untap artifacts using Turnabout instead of lands. This is probably harder to do.

Cards Required: 2

Card Combinations: Rite of Replication + Vela the Night-Clad

Steps:

  1. Have Vela the Night-Clad on the battlefield.

  2. Cast Rite of Replication kicked, targeting Vela the Night-Clad.

  3. When the spell resolves, it will create 5 copies of Vela the Night-Clad. This would put a total of 6 Vela the Night-Clads onto the battlefield, so the legend rule would require 5 of them to be destroyed (shouldn't matter which 5). Each creature destroyed will trigger the leaves the battlefield effect of all 6 Vela the Night-Clads because the 5 are destroyed simultaneously.

Result: Each opponent loses 30 life.

Additional Notes

When one of these combos gives you infinite mana and involves making a wizard creature enter the battlefield several times, you should be able to win the game if Inalla can be put onto the battlefield. Below are the steps to follow during and after the combo:

  1. Have Inalla in the command zone or on your side of the battlefield.

  2. Initiate the appropriate combo.

  3. When a wizard enters the battlefield for a cycle in the combo, this triggers Inalla's ETB effect. Pay to create a token of the wizard with haste.

  4. If Inalla is still in your command zone, end the combo with enough mana to cast her, and cast her.

  5. Use Inalla's activated ability to make a player lose 7 life an infinite number of times by tapping the infinitely-many wizard tokens.

  6. Alternatively, if you are unable to cast Inalla, use the infinitely-many wizard tokens with haste to attack each opponent and win (if possible, of course).
