Part of a project to fill in some of the unrepresented generals over at EDHrec. Starting with the Mono-R ones first since that's where my heart is.

Iizuka's ability is actually very strong, but the support for it isn't quite there. We're running just about as many creatures as we can that are affected in an attempt to get as much value out of our alpha strikes as possible.

Lots of Anthem effects pump your small army and a grip of temporary clone spells can make your presence stronger that it appears.

The deck has a few tricks like Runed Stalactite/Blades of Velis Vel allowing you to give an unexpected creature Double Strike. There's also some built in recursion so you don't run out of fodder to sac to Iizuka's ability.

Your selection of beaters isn't great by any means, but Iizuka is a fun way to run a lot of cards you typically wouldn't see in any EDH list.
