FNM #1 with the deck:
Rank: 2nd Place
-Match 1: ??? (Win)
-Match 2: Rakdos Aggro (2-0 Win)
-Match 3: Azorius Control (1-1 Draw)
This deck went to it's first FNM, and it did surprisingly well! I ended up letting a friend pilot it while I played Naya Midrange, so I don't know all of the match-up play-by-plays. Next FNM though, I shall be piloting it (hopefully) and I will give more details.
Merciless Eviction really isn't necessary when, unlike Terminus , it can't be miracled for cheap. It's better off just being another Supreme Verdict.
It is when it costs 2 more than something that gets rid of the thing control actually wants to get rid of.
So? Post board wipe it's a 1/1 and can be dealt with incredibly easily because you're control.
Please don't tell me we're encouraging the actually good Esper deck to run Downsize and AEtherize. They may be great in limited, but I guarantee their usefulness does not transfer over to Standard.
I'd reset the comments if I were you at this point, Fallen_Angel_of_Music.
OnyxMyr: I more than likely will if I can pick any up, haha.
And I shall be clearing a few comments above this one.
I don't think one card really dictates that you need FOUR of something in the sideboard, especially since Burning Earth decks will be less popular once the buddylands rotate. Tear might still be a good option because of the number of enchantments Theros will have, but running 4 in the sideboard when there are other ways to get rid of Burning Earth seems a little much and will restrict how well the deck will be able to sideboard against other more common decks.
Yes. But, Burning Earth is your biggest weekness and used by multiple decks.
Theros is in like 2 or 3 weeks. I am sure there will be plenty great enchantment removal that comes along with it.
I think you can go to 25 lands, but you should definitely added some of the scry lands
