Dubious Challenge Combo

Modern

Nux

Sideboard

This is a deck that can potentially win on turn 2. More likely on turn 4+ but it can win out of nowhere and surprise your opponent which is always fun. :)

~~ Definitions I will use in the Description ~~

There are three categories of creatures in this deck; A payoff, A flickerer and a Manna ramp.

The Pay offs are: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn; Blightsteel Colossus; Worldspine Wurm; Iona, Shield of Emeria and there is a pseudo pay off creature in Combustible Gearhulk which isn't used in the main combo but can be used in a pinch to get more cards or if you are lucky enough, kill your opponent.

The Flickerers are: Flickerwisp; Glimmerpoint Stag and Brooding Saurian

And of course the Manna ramp is Arbor Elf and Simian Spirit Guide. We use Arbor Elf as it allows us to untap a land enchanted with Utopia Sprawl for extra manna.

The main combo of the deck is with Dubious Challenge and back up combos in; See the Unwritten and Through the Breach.

~~ The Dubious Challenge Combo ~~

So the way this works is after you cast it you have to target your opponent and then you look at the top 10 cards of your library. What you want to see is at least one creature from the pay offs category and one from the flickerers. If you get Flickerwisp or Glimmerpoint Stag and a pay off and they choose the pay of creature simply use the flicker trigger on your pay of creature and it will return to the battle field under your control at the end step. If they choose the Flickerwisp or Glimmerpoint Stag they will keep the creature, but that's okay cause you just got a huge creature! If you choose Brooding Saurian and a pay off creature then at the end step no matter which way the opponent chooses you will get both creatures. Be careful when you choose Brooding Saurian and a pay off creature because if they choose the pay off creature and then they Path to Exile or fetch + Fatal Push your Brooding Saurian they will keep the pay off, which would be a bad thing :(.

~~ Back up combos ~~

The back ups are more simple. With See the Unwritten just hope to hit a payoff creature and put in on the battlefield. With Through the Breach just use it whilst you have a pay off creature in your hand and smack them in the face. This one is best used on Worldspine Wurm as when you sac is you keep 3 5/5 trample Wurm tokens. Or if they have 0 blockers on Blightsteel Colossus to win on the spot.

~~ Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl sequencing ~~

If you have these 2 in hand + 2 lands: Turn 1 Land into Arbor Elf; Turn 2 2nd land into Utopia Sprawl onto the untapped land. Now Tap that land for 2 manna untap it with Arbor Elf and tap it again now you have 4 manna. Which you can use on a turn 2 Dubious Challenge.

~~ Turn 2 Win ~~

This requires the Opponent to have no blockers. The Hand: 2 Lands; Arbor Elf; Utopia Sprawl; Through the Breach; Blightsteel Colossus and Simian Spirit Guide. Do the sequencing descriped above to get 4 floating manna; exile Simian Spirit Guide so now you have 5 manna. Through the Breach into Blightsteel Colossus and attack for 11 infect damage.

Inspired from watching a SaffronOlive Video. :)
