Sideboard

Copied deck by brich84 here- http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/developing-competitive-modern/491196-skred-red?page=39

Dream opening hand would be 4 lands, Mind Stone, Koth of the Hammer, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon.

Turn 1- Snow-covered Mountain

Turn 2- Snow-covered Mountain, play Mind stone

Turn 3- Snow-covered Mountain, play Koth and go up

Here is the unlikely part. Hoping that your opponent doesn't do 2 points of damage to koth before your turn 4

Turn 4- Any land, Koth minus, play ugin

if all 4 lands are snow then you will have an extra mana to either skred or relic, or bolt as well

This draw is why I run 1 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon since if you get him turn 4 its hard to see a scenario where your opponent can win from there. The fact that this is a red control deck and games can be long with blood moon out as well. So he isn't just here for the dream, but more of a trump card. He is the late game assurance we sometimes need and can be brought back through Haven of the Spirit Dragon . I can easily see other people not wanting to run him over more consistent cards.

Ideally you will Relic of Progenitus or Lightning Bolt on turn 1.(we can pop relic early to help us draw mindstone or an extra land or koth since we really want those.)

Mind Stone, Roast or Skredon turn 2.

Then you will just get out a turn 3 Blood Moon or Koth of the Hammer and slow down the game long enough. Then play your Thunderbreak Regent's and Stormbreath Dragon's with the help of your Volcanic Fallout's and Skred's to clear up the board.

Roast is good against Tasigur, the Golden Fang, and Gurmag Anglers. Can be replaced with Spellskite or Pyroclasm based on your modern meta.

Cavern of Souls and Haven of the Spirit Dragon help you play your dragons through control magic or grab them from the grave.

I liked Thunderbreak Regent and Stormbreath Dragon as opposed to Boros Reckoner and Demigod of Revenge that most skred decks run. I think Thunderbreak Regent and Stormbreath Dragon is great since multiples of thunderbreak are amazing and they dodge bolt, and abrupt decay. If they manage to kill thunderbreak they will take damage, and they can't path Stormbreath Dragon. I also like stormbreath dragon's synergy with Blood Moon since if they can't play their spells, stormbreath's monstrous ability just becomes better.

I have thought about a one or two of Thundermaw Hellkite since the extra damage and toughness as opposed to stormbreath is a turn faster clock and destroys lingering souls. I decided I didn't like it as much as stormbreath since stormbreath will dodge more removal and stay around longer which in my opinion will do more if we also have blood moon or thunderbreak out.

Chandra, Pyromaster is here as a one of vs controlling and long games where you can start to play 2 cards a turn. I saw a lot of lists either running her or Outpost Siege but running 2 copies total in the 75. I decided to run 1 copy and run 4 thunderbreak regents instead of 3 since they are better in multiples.

Banefire is here for those long grindy games you get through playing blood moon or to help vs controlling games to finish them out.

Sideboard

The sideboard choices are not my own since I copied this deck and I am in the process of getting all the cards (Blood moon is expensive haha). I will probably be changing it up more to match my modern meta once I have more practice with it. Looking at the choices of this sideboard seem very fair versus a lot of the field.
