Trying to build the best Mono-Green Aggro deck possible for Modern. One of the problems Green can face is a lack of card draw and that is definitely one of the strengths of this deck with Augur of Autumn, Werewolf Pack Leader, and The Great Henge with a heavy fetch land presence for thinning the deck.

One-Drops:

I use a combination of 6x Ignoble Hierarch / Noble Hierarch with the intent of ramping into a Turn 2 Steel Leaf Champion, Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig or Old-Growth Troll. The Exalted triggers can also really add up for early beaters like the ones mentioned above and in the mid-game if you should get a powered-up Hexdrinker.

While the deck doesn't rely on creatures that get +1/+1 counters, I included the Pelt Collectors as one of the most efficient 1-drop creatures in the game, especially given their synergy with Avatar of the Resolute. When you don't draw a turn 1 Hierarch, a Pelt Collector followed by a Werewolf Pack Leader is a strong one-two opener. I run Pelt Collector over Experiment One due to its the eventual Trample ability, but an argument can be made for either. For me, Trample is the more valuable because getting damage through is all that matters in this deck.

For mid-game stalemates I also have 2x Hexdrinker which can break those stalls wide open once they're properly juiced up, but I rarely drop them unless 1) I can immediately level them up at least 3 times or 2) I want to draw some removal away from another creature.

Two-Drops:

Due to the Hierarchs, I only use a minimal number of 2-cost cards because I'm really looking for those 3-drops on turn two. Avatar of the Resolute benefits both from the aforementioned Pelt Collectors as well as from Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig, which is why it gets the nod over Strangleroot Geist - that and it's Trample ability. I only run three in the deck because getting them too early minimizes their potential.

By contrast, Werewolf Pack Leader is a fantastic play at any time, and can often earn you multiple card draws while the focus is on eliminating bigger threats. We go with four of those in the deck for sure.

Three Drops:

4x Old-Growth Troll and 2x Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig join the usual 4x Steel Leaf Champion as the quick, heavy beaters. They all require GGG to cast, which only helps build your devotion for Aspect of Hydra.

3x Augur of Autumn gives the deck a very effective engine to keep the deck moving by sifting through lands and top-decking creatures. Getting a free shuffle from the fetch lands helps to maximize its benefit, and is a main reason why the deck features so many.

1x Rhonas the Indomitable gives you an indestructible blocker with Deathtouch that can also serve as a mana sink to buff your beaters and grant them Trample.

Finally, I include a single Elder Gargaroth, chosen for its utility over a more traditional Ghalta, Primal Hunger.

Buffs / Utility:

Aspect of Hydra is a no-brainer as it's probably the most cost-efficient buff in the game. It'll keep your opponents on their heels because they'll always be wondering whether that one card you've got in hand is the hammer or not. That's something to keep in mind rather than dropping that extra land that you don't need.

Lands:

As a mono-green deck with six mana dorks and almost everything in the deck costing 3 mana or less, I'm fine with only carrying 19 lands. Moreover, I compliment 10 forests with 8 fetch lands - this lets you play some games with Augur of Autumn, getting a free shuffle when the top card isn't what you're looking for. I'm going back and forth between an extra man-land with Lair of the Hydra or mana burst with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. While the Devotion is there for a big Nykthos, there just isn't much in the way of mana-sink in the deck.

Something to keep in mind is that you're relative vulnerability to an early Blood Moon due to so many green symbols on your spells. If that's a concern in your meta, or the fetchlands are simply too expensive, the deck can certainly run with fewer fetches, or even none.
