Hey man i like this idea. i had a similar deck build in mind. im brewing with ensoul artifact, shrapnel blast, darksteel citadels, chief engineer, and ornithopters. i think i like adding the scuttle engine as well. I was also thinking about illusory angels and quicklings. You could potentially play the engine turn 3 with convoke and the servant and ornithopter. Which seems good, im still brewing, anyways +1
I really like Illusory Angel as something to make your thopters and springleafs even more worthwhile. Astral Cornucopia also seems like a solid artifact as is can cast for 0to be an ensoul or shrapnel blast target as well as the fact that it can help accelerate into the doom engine and the soul. In any event +1
I would cut -2 Soul of New Phyrexia . It is a win more card. Scuttling Doom Engine is our ticket to victory. -4 Springleaf Drum I don't see any point at all to this card in our deck. We have Darksteel Citadel and Ornithopter for convoke and Shrapnel Blast targets. -2 Military Intelligence , this simple isn't a playable card. We're not playing weenie, we're going a lot faster than that. Now I would definitely add +3 Phyrexian Revoker . This card works so hard for us. It turns off all the baddies while working for Chief Engineer , Shrapnel Blast , and Ensoul Artifact . +1 Hammer of Purphoros another hard working card acting as a provider for all our win cons. +2 Hour of Need for more evasion and evolving our late game Generator Servant and Ornithopter . Lastly you can add +2 Rapid Hybridization for removal and triggering our Scuttling Doom Engine when our opponents try to exile them. Hope some of this helps.
I agree with everything you said except Hour of Need. I just rubs me the wrong way.
Electric What are you're thoughts on sideboard cards?
2 dispel3 gainsay4 negate2 izzet charm2 domestication2 cyclonic rift
could be a solid sideboard
i would strongly recommend keranos in the mainboard as a 2-3 of card, you have absolutely no draw power in a deck built around winning by blowing up its own cards
@The Doctor Some combination of removal. My deck is a slightly different build so my side is obviously going to be different. Being what it is, in this build I would run 4 Mizzium Skin , 4 Shock , 3 Negate , 2 Curse of the Swine , and 2 Gainsay .
I've been messing with Stoke the Flames and Annul in the side. If artifact convoke decks become big in the meta, I think Negate should be swapped for Annul . Until then, I like a two mana counter that hits both planeswalkers and Sphinx's Revelation .
pretty well so far. gives me targets for ensoul artifact and shrapnel blast even if it dies, and the landmines are convenient regardless.
I love the M15 artifact concept but have struggled during playtest with exile enchantments Banishing Light , Chained to the Rocks , Detention Sphere etc... bouncing Scuttling Doom Engine and Darksteel Citadel with Ensoul Artifact . I can run counter spells but once these hit I haven't found an effective way around them. I've thought about splashing green or white but would rather not have to eal with the mana problems for just a couple of cards
Control is definitely the worst matchup for this deck. I personally haven't found an effective method of dealing with control aside from throwing Jace, Memory Adept into the sideboard, or simply bum rushing them too fast.
Tends to happen with aggro, though. If you don't get the steam rolling, it stops pumping.
this is one of the best versions i have seen of this deck type.
This is what I came up with for an aggro archetype!Kaboomifacts! It runs pretty well I just feel like its missing SOMETHING although i'm not quite sure what it is... Anyone have suggestions?
I feel like the one thing it's missing is an efficient card draw. For example Affinity has Thoughtcast while we haven't got anything like that.
I was thinking of running bident of thassa and also izzet charm and Jace can kind of help me refresh my hand. Any suggestions for card draw?
With bident i can ensoul it or I can use military intelligence. If worst comes to worst I can run divination
The new Jace, the Living Guildpact is really efficient for these types of tempo decks since he has the bounce and his + is practically drawing a card because he gets rid of the potential land draw that you usually don't want at that point in the game. At least try him I'd say
Until RtR rotates I feel that AoT is a much better option.
