Sideboard

Maybeboard

Creature (1)

The original concept here came while playing a two headed giant game that was still undecided. I had played a Bane of Bala Ged the turn before but the other side of the board had a ton of blockers that could just stack block and kill it while they only lost two cards. I drew a Displacement Wave that won the game. I played it to return everything with CMC 4 or less which left Bane and another good sized creature on our side to attack. With nothing left of the board they had to exile their land and then were unable to play everything that was just scooped up.

At the time I literally only had one Bane and one Wave in the entire deck. I immediately changed gears and built around that very scenario. There is just enough tempo cards like Abstruse Interference , Titan's Presence, and Adverse Conditions to buy time to get everybody that I need into play. Breaker of Armies has been invaluable against token decks that spread out and takes care of chump blockers and is great to dig for with Conduit of Ruin if I already have Bane. Salvage Drone and Mist Intruder gave me things to play on the first few turns which otherwise were just land and pass, and they fuel a quick Blight Herder that helps drop Bane or Breaker rather quickly.

Disperse is a great single target version of Wave that allows me to deal with blockers and enchantments, and then hopefully I can follow it up with a counter when they try to play it again.

Drowner of Hope , Skyline Cascade , and Adverse Conditions are all great ways to deal with beefy attackers and blockers without having to remove them from the board and free up Breaker to survive whatever is left untapped and everything else clear to hit home.

Void Winnower is for sure a dynamic card that usually hits the board and causes your opponent to stare at it while they figure out all the things they can't do anymore and is usually followed by scooping their cards.

This deck has playtested pretty well against most threats. Typically the big challenge is hitting enough mana to do what you need to do, but generally there are plenty of Scions to utilize and Shrine of the Forsaken Gods comes online in a big way mid game.

Thanks for reading, let me know what you think :)
