It's a Rakdos creatureless Standard control deck. What? Nothing odd about that.

The idea is to keep pinging at the opponent with Mutavault, Haunted Plate Mail , and Rakdos Keyrune until their face explodes.

The rest of the deck is shutting down the opponent.

Slaughter Games kills key creatures and cards before they can be used.

Whip of Erebos gives everything lifelink, allowing massive life stabilization.

Thoughtseize synergizes well with Slaughter Games and is great answer removal.

Hero's Downfall and Dreadbore are removal spells that are good against control AND midrange/aggro. Win/win.

Mizzium Mortars hits Blood Baron of Vizkopa and serves as either creature removal or a boardwipe.

Rakdos's Return hits the opponent's hand. Hard. Against control, it can be a gamewinner.

In terms of the sideboard, Anger of the Gods is an excellent side against aggro. Duress hits control. Pithing Needle hits any deck that relies on activated abilities. Erebos, God of the Dead handily deals with lifegain. Whip of Erebos gives lifelink. Against aggro, it is a stabilizer.
