I've been thinking about Nissa as a win con too and I would strongly recommend x4 Oath of Nissa. I think it would be sweet to throw in Cascading Cataracts as great targets for Nissa's ultimate so they will be 5/5 flying indestructible. If I think of anything else I'll let ya know. Good luck!

Looks like a cool deck, but you have it tagged as Abzan (B/G/W) when it's Bant (U/G/W). I do really like the new Nissa.

Good catch Flytrigreen! I think I was going Abzan initially, but decided to change it up.
Thanks for the recommendation FullmetalWes. Cascading Cataracts would be cool to make my flying lands also be indestructible, but I'm not sure how it would impact my mana base. Need to think on that one. What do you think Oath of Nissa would help me with? In the 2 matches I've played with this deck on MTGO so far, I have not had any mana color issues. I guess it could end up being kind of another draw card though, to get me to Nissa faster? I might try 4 Oath of Nissa instead of 4 of the 8 mana-rampers, what do you think about that?

Yes! Good catch QuantumSkies, and I actually already have 4 of them on MTGO. Cheers!

@BubbleMatrix2357 I would personally cut the 2 Dissenter's Deliverance to the sideboard and cut Druid of the Cowl or Call the Gatewatch to make room for Oath of Nissa. The reason I recommend it so strongly is because it will help you get exactly what you need for the situation or if you don't get what you need then you are that much closer to what you do need. As for mana fixing, I'd run 4 Aether Hub since you have 4 Attune with Aether and Servant of the Conduit. Another great card that allows you to keep digging, provides energy for mana and is either a blocker/draw out removal is Rogue Refiner. Hope that helps!

Thanks again FullmetalWes! I'm going to try cutting two Druid of the Cowl for two Oath of Nissa and see how it goes. I actually only have two Oath of Nissa on MTGO so I would need to purchase more if I went with four, but they're cheaper now anyway. They were about $4 when I got them and now they're under $2.

I would like to suggest maybe some protection spells? Because you are using your own lands so it does make your lands susceptible to kill spells. But I'll give you a plus 1! And if you want to, you can take a look at my deck. It's pretty similar. It's also a lot of fun to play! And some suggestions could be helpful. Mecha-X. +1 From me!

WHAT?!!?! THERE IS A FOG DECK IN STANDARD?!?!?!
I might have to play some Standard.
May 5, 2017 8:56 a.m.
Haha, yes indeed naynay666, a Standard Fog deck! The only Standard "Fog" not in this deck is Repel the Abominable, which I may actually put in my SB because I've been screwed a few times by Commencement of Festivities not preventing Nissa from taking damage, but I do see Humans sometimes too, which would make the card pretty useless. Still thinking about it.

Weaver of Currents Could be a good card that can easily start to pump your Nissa. Channeler Initiate Can also start getting you the mana you need, and when you run out of counters on her you have a big body to help block damage as well as dealing it.

Ruinous path, refer to return, cast out, lost legacy, Gideon's intervention, to the slaughter, literally any burn spell that goes to the head, multiple counterspells, and anything else I can't think of off the top of my head all deal with your only win con. Then your left with 6 dorks that die to pretty much everything.
You desperately need a secondary win condition.
May 5, 2017 10:12 a.m.
sirreynolds554 has a good point about a secondary win con, I'd recommend Gideon of the Trials or Approach of the Second Sun. However, although there may be multiple ways to stop Nissa, as long as she doesn't get countered you will have priority to use one of her abilities before your opponent can destroy her as long as you do it on your precombat main phase. Another thing to watch out for as a fog deck, loss of life. Not sure how popular it will be but watch out for effects like Wayward Servant.
May 5, 2017 10:26 a.m.
If nissa lands yes you can use her but sense there is no other damage producing effects in the deck I'm gonna take ten then win the game.
Cut the deserters deliverance and the call for 3 torential Gearhulk. Cut the 3 mana fog for repel and move them to the side in case of humans match up. Don't play Druid put channeler in instead.
You need some way to refill your hand so you should look into pull from tomorrow or glimmer. You can't rely on your top deck to always feed you a fog when you use them all. Also why gearhulk is good cause it essentially adds 4 more fogs.
As for side board you need to be thinking about how to defend your win con OR change your win on all together. A transformative Bord plan could be good here.

Thanks for the comments sirreynolds554 and FullmetalWes! I was getting a bit learly about no other win-cons too. What about Gideon, Ally of Zendikar rather than Gideon of the Trials? My thinking is that older Gideon can at least protect himself a bit by pumping out 2/2s (which could potentially attack, with Gideon, as well).
May 5, 2017 2:56 p.m.
I would be cautious of adding a second planeswalker as your only other win condition. Cause the same answers that hit miss also hit Gideon. Also because bfz Gideon is probably the most powerful card in standard all of your opponents almost have to an answer. That's why I suggested the gearhulks. I think they help advance your game plan as well as help speed up your nissa kill clock.
May 5, 2017 3 p.m.
Add in the ban hammer. Dovin Baan and yeah approach the second sun would be great a a secondary win con.
May 5, 2017 3:26 p.m.
For the record approach the second son would be a terrible secondary win condition in the deck as it is currently built.
There is no card draw or filtering other than nissa who is the primary win con. And with her out your either winning or she'll be rly with and at best you gain 7 life and pray to not die for 7! Turns. You might as well scoop at that point. It's just a waist of the card slot.
May 5, 2017 3:39 p.m.
Yes I agree sirreynolds554, no Approach for this deck. I'm testing with 2 added older Gideon's right now....
May 5, 2017 3:47 p.m.
Cool version mate. But only having one wincon as Nissa, isn't that a bit shady? And having 24 lands seems too much when you have 4 mana dorks too. Ink-Treader Fog check out my version if you want :)

Maybe Naga Vitalist over Druid of the Cowl. It just allows for better mana fixing in a pinch.
