Since I'm poor, I've tried to create a "Budget" Legacy Discard deck! The main cards I've excluded are Dark Confidant ($50 bucks!), Thoughtseize ($35!), and Wasteland ($50!).
The Plan:
To Dark Ritual out a creature like
Vampire Nighthawk
or Nyxathid (if they've taken initiative on the first turn. Or, play Inquisition of Kozilek or Duress and begin the discard. Basically pose a big creature threat, or get rid of their early game cards.
On turn two the ideal play is either Smallpox as removal, discard,and land destruction to delay and disrupt my opponent. Or,
Hymn to Tourach
is great on turn two. The random discard can win you games.
On turn three their hand will ideally be only 0, 1, or 2 cards and The Rack, and/or a flipped
Nezumi Shortfang
can begin the damage.
Nyxathid helps in the late game as a big creature presence, and Hypnotic Specter can maintain their depleted hand.
As this is a reaaallly low cost deck (mana and money-wise) i've put a couple of Sign in Bloods in to avoid too much topdecking.
I've tested this deck a bit and it can completely frustrate people (Imagine turn one Dark Ritual on
Hymn to Tourach
and Duress). It works quite well right now and is really fun but I'D STILL LOVE YOUR INPUT so let me know what you think!
