Pox Control

Black has long been my favorite color in magic and this deck is loosely themed around one of black's unique features: powerful cards that hurt their own player.

The core cards of the deck are Smallpox and Liliana of the Veil. These cards offer multi-dimensional control and can rapidly and powerfully undermine an opposing deck's strategy. The deck is designed to recover from these devastating cards with greater efficiency than the opponent.

Creatures

Abyssal Persecutor is for sure one of my favorite cards for reasons of flavor and sheer badass power. He is the all star here as a 6/6 flying trampler. He is usually a two or three turn clock once he resolved. I have 13 potential sources of removal for him.

Dark Confidant has obvious benefits (card advantage is good) and fits the theme: "Greatness, at any cost." He fuels our hand and brings our life total into Death's Shadow range.

Death's Shadow is a major threat. With Bob, shocks, fetches, pox effects, Thoughtseize and opponents with fast decks, my life total often dwindles quickly. Let's turn that into an advantage and have a bigger, badder creature than anyone else.

Tasigur, the Golden Fang is a force to be reckoned with, often able to be dropped on turn 3-4 for . He avoids most of the common removal in modern and late game offers a mana dump which can net some card advantage.

Spells

Smallpox serves as devastating control that affects the board state, life total and hands. Leveling the board state and emptying player's hands while recovering more efficiently than the opponent is the general plan.

Abrupt Decay and Fatal Push kill things. The latter can rid us of Abyssal persector when paired with a fetch land or other revolt trigger.

Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek dismantle hands.

Collective Brutality is a nice versatile control card.

Liliana of the Veil... The utility, the control, the fun... Wow.

SB coming soon. Thanks for checking out the deck!

+1 if you like the deck!
