Howdy y'all.

I just built my first-ever deck, a Pauper EDH Commander zombie recursive with some control (for protection), deck-sifting and cycling, recursive creatures, spells, and effects, global life syphoning, deathtouch and infect creatures (for defense), and a Voltron-y effect for the commander or any other suitable creature, and lots of mana.

I'm aiming for flexibility, in terms of how I do damage and overall mechanics for the deck, but am aiming for 3 major themes, in no particular order: deck-sifting, recursive creatures and effects, and life-syphoning.

I would like to stay B/U, but am willing to go mono-black.

I am looking for cards or combinations of 2-3 cards that combo well, produce more than one effect, have good synergy with the concept and each other. I am open to suggestion about replacing certain cards for better ones, or mechanics or effects with better synergy, as I'm pretty new overall to magic and am unfamiliar with so much of MTG.

If you know of a card that would work better than one I already have, please let me know! Or, if you think my deck requires more focus and know of cards and combos that allow me to better achieve my ends, I'd like to hear about it.

If you're just gonna rage-hulk about EDH Pauper, I'll pass. I'm just testing out my deck-building skills for the first time, so I'd appreciate real feedback instead of a diatribe of how much you hate the format (which I've already gotten in other forums).
