Why & How I created the deck in this way:

The Randomness:

Developed from opening 6 or 7 packs of Ixalan plus 2 or 3 each of Hour of Devastation & Amonkhet over the course of several weeks. I did not specifically seek out or purchase any individual cards for this deck. Fun!!

How I narrowed down the field:

• We've already had vampires & merfolk for a long time, while the pirates and Dinosaurs are brand new and really well done overall I think. Besides, I'm not really into the idea of white vampires....

• Since I'm Old (been around since the Age of Ice) I'm also not at all thrilled w/ energy counters & don't use them. Back in my day, we ran our artifacts on nothing but raw mana, and we liked it!!

• Combined 2 for Dual Tribal instead of making separate decks for each tribe in an effort to both save some $ and challenge myself to cram as much variety as I could into 1 crazy deck.

• Decided to finish w/ splash of black for 4 evil pirates against 2x eachPirate's Cutlass and Vizier of Tumbling Sands.
